Don't bother with this - get Paul's own book October 18, 2008 Dave (Leicester) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sounds to me as though this author has never even met Paul O'Grady and wrote this book by rehashing stuff from the papers. Don't bother.
disapointing! October 14, 2008 Frances 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Couldn't be more disapointed! I expected an insight into the real Paul O'Grady but I'd be surprised if the guy who wrote this book has ever even met him! Don't waste your money on this get the real version, i am!
Not the real thing! October 13, 2008 foxy reader (reading) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
OMG! If like me you have been watching Paul O'Grady talking about his autobiography all year on his show - DON'T BUY THIS BOOK! It has been written by some journalist, it isn't his book and it's not even very good!!!! His REAL BOOK is called AT MY MOTHER'S KNEE and is brilliant! It's Paul o'Grady through and through. If you love Paul, you'll love it. Make sure you buy the right one!!!
waste of time October 12, 2008 simon king (london england) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Yet another biog that has bee thrown together by a journalist keen on making a quick buck. Cobbled together from out of date newspaper interviews, this inaccurate account isn't worth bothering with. Buy O'Grady's own story if you want a good read, At my Mothers Knee...and other low joints, very funny and gives a real insight to the man. You can hear his voice as you read. Simpsons is a load of badly written pap. Give this book a wide berth, you learn nothing from it.Paul O'Grady: The BiographyPaul O'Grady: The Biography
Birkenhead's Best October 12, 2008 K. SIMPSON (Pimlico London SW1) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Someone i know worked with Paul when he was a Social worker and said he was dedicated and a real star. i am a huge fan and he's often turned my tears into laughter, this book did likewise. I am always wary of 'biographys' as sometimes they tell mammoth porkies. This however is i think as close as it gets to the real O'Grady. He has worked and worked his whole life through and 'been there done that' many times over. it shows a side of Paul which is hidden behind his public persona and makes you cry laugh and be humbled. He is a credit to us all in what he has achieved and it makes you realise that the stories he tells on TV are real with maybe a little bit of spice added! For once tha Palace got it spot on in handing him a gong. Read it and be inspired. Please.
