Safe and snug but not too tight November 15, 2008 Barry (Hertfordshire) Well the DCC-60 camera case does exactly what its made for. Ignore all the other reviews about it being too tight for the Canon Ixus 80 IS. Yes it is snug but it certainly isn't too tight. Ok it could have had a little pocket for a spare memory card but surely you can keep a spare card in its little plastic case in your pocket serarately........ alternativly, buy the biggest SDHC card you can afford ! I would 100% recommend anyone buying this for their Ixus 80
Very good November 1, 2008 Onewithall (Torquay, England) If I were you I wouldn't be put off by the negative things pointed out in previous reviews. I use this for an IXUS 85 IS and the camera fits snugly inside, I don't have any problems with the camera going accidentally into video made. It looks nice, has a good leathery feel and the magnetic button is satisfying. It is true that an extra pouch for a spare SD card would have been useful, but I'm yet to have any issues with this product.
Canon Ixus 80/82 Case October 15, 2008 Sarah James (Cardiff, Wales) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for my Canon Ixus 80/82 camera and it's perfect. So don't be put off by those saying it's too small. I suppose it depends which camera you are buying it for!
I Rest My Case September 22, 2008 PCB (Kent - UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well what can you say about a camera case? Judging by the amount of reviews, quite a bit really. Too many can be quite confusing I think. Anyway... I've just bought a current model Canon digital camera (the Ixus 80iS) and this case to put it in. Others have mentioned a tight fit and indeed this camera is. But it DOES go in and, hopefully, it might loosen up a tad. No space for memory cards (but with the big SD cards available, I don't need that) No space for spare battery (OK, could be a problem, but this is not an equipment case, purely one to protect the camera) And "that belt loop" (nah, I won't use that either. But its not obtrusive) 4stars purely because its a tight fit and the leather's stiff. A good and smart case though.
Case won't protect your camera against damage September 10, 2008 J. Carnall (Edinburgh, Scotland) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This case does not work to protect the camera against damage. I've owned a Canon IXUS 60, with this soft leather case, for just over 18 months. This case is the one that Canon recommends for use with that camera (though as Georgie Pillson and John Lewis note, the case switches the camera to movie mode every time it's taken out of the bag). I have always been extremely careful with my camera: whenever it's out of the case the cord is looped round my wrist. I've never had any damage caused to the camera when it was out of the case. But, twice now, when the camera was in its "protective" case, the screen at the back has been damaged. On the first occasion, I discussed the damage with Canon and was eventually faced with their clear statement that they had no reason to believe I was telling the truth when I said the camera was in the case when the screen was damaged, so they would not compensate me for the damage. The repair was expensive but slightly less so than buying a new camera: I paid the bill. (The screen appeared to be literally cracked - no image was visible. It was buy a new screen or buy a new camera.) The second occasion, much more recent: the screen is not broken, but seriously blurred, as if a permanent shadow is lying across it. Again: the screen was fine when I put it into the protective case - the damage occurred when the camera was inside the protective case. I may instead buy a new camera, and it will not be a Canon, though I like the design of the Ixus: I have no time for companies that recommend protective cases which do not protect, and which tell customers reporting problems with the protective cases that they are lying about the problem.
