Still up there with the best July 1, 2008 Mr. R. Smith (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As you can see from all the other reviews its a good bit of kit. We have used the F20 for two years, with no problems. With so many new Sat Navs models to chose from, you can get a big reduction's on the older F20 The good thing about the F20 it don't treat you like an idiot. In other words it one of the few user friendly Sat Navs you can buy at a fair price. Bob
Flawed design, avoid. May 28, 2008 G. McAllister (Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was fairly competent and easy to use sat nav for occasional use but very quickly developed charging problems. As it turns the usb/charger port is very flimsy and dislodges very easily. My unit was never dropped or treated roughly and merely through normal light usage has been rendered useless by this, as it turns out not uncommon , fault. A quick look on ebay will show you faulty units for sale. All this systems good points are rendered irrelevant by this problem.
do not buy May 4, 2008 Mr. Barry E. Rook 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
the maps are so far out of date you will be better off using a set of 1990 paper maps, just within 10 miles of my home it shows a post office that closed 10 years ago,a hospital that is now flats and closed over 5years ago, also shows an A road that is a B road so just think how many more mistakes there must be nationwide. i have had the gps for 1 year and i find it pretty useless.i contacted navman about the above but all they said was that it was loaded with the LASTEST maps
mapping lets it down January 31, 2008 Mr. C. Nation 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Had the f20 6months now and a good simple satnav to use, except for the out of date Maps. Went across the new Severn Bridge and it does Not show it, I was in the water!!! and thats been built about 12 years ago my house is 6 years old and that's not on the maps either!! I know its a cheepy but the main point of them is the mapping I should of spent more money!!
It does some stuoid things November 25, 2007 Nicholas Harman 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Lured by low price and free Euro maps I bought this. For me the main problem is lack of a 'use/don't use motorways option' Navman likes to go the shortest way and so if a motorway bends it will try and take you off the motorway, across country, and then rejoin the motorway again! This may be the shortest route but it sure isnt the fastest! This habit of always going the 'shortest' distance means it will route you through city centres and traffic, instead of taking the bypass. It will go down narrow blocked small city streets instead of continuing on the main, easy, road if it can see a corner to be cut. I have seen a lot of London I didn't want to see. I now use it just to find an address when I have used my own savvy to get me close. If you don't, the navman f20 will turn a 30 min journey into a 2 hr one as it attempts to go the 'shortest' way rather than the most effective.
