4 out of 5 stars the best headphones for sub 20 by far   June 26, 2008

I bought these headphones because I started doing live sets and needed them for my decks. I have now ditched my in-ear phones completely and use these for comuting to work, cycling, normal MP3 player use and on my computer for making music and listening to music! they are fantastic and realy detailed sound. Don't expect them to be loud however, they have some hefty volume granted but you will never get the amplitude you will get from in-ear headphones. but then again, the sounds smashes in ear headphones so all is made up for.

they do look a bit more stupid than most headphones as the headband connects on the outside of each earpiece so the headband looks more square than fitting to the head, however, the masses of adjustibility and the 4 way swivel on each earpiece makes up for this and are great to just place to your ear wherever tehy are.

they don't keep the sound iscolated from the outside world very well iether. in fact, you can swivel the right hand earpice 180 degreas, listen to the back and it sounds identical just a bit more uncomfortable! but to be honest, If you're buying these headphones, you won't be the type of person to care.

the cable length is easily enough and any more would just be silly. the gold plated connector works well to add to the soundquality and the specialy designed small to big connector adapter screws on the end and is fully gold plated too. you can just feel the quality of it.

one bad side is that on particular very very low bass notes, the right one rattles very slightly. its almost unaudible but i guess its what you pay about 50 quid to buy ones that dont!

buy em!

4 out of 5 stars Robust, soulless, but cheap!   December 27, 2007

I feel qualified to write this review, having owned and used almost daily a pair of these for over 4 years. In fact, it's my second pair - my wife jumped on my first set. So, although robust - they can be terminated! I bought them because I own a synthesizer and all previous (albeit low-spec) headphones were permanently damaged (and would rattle) after plugging them into my synth - it really does pump out some hefty noises. These Behringer headphones can really take a lot of abuse (audio and physical) and are fantastic for the price.

I'm no longer a poor student, and I'm starting to tire of them though. I think I'm going to buy a pair of AKG K701s and see what real headphones are. These can go loud, but the sound is uninspiring and leaves me constantly fiddling with the equalizer presets on my ipod trying to bring a bit of life into the rendition. These have their uses and are cheap cheap cheap (excellent value for money and far superior to apple freebie headphones and the like), but I'm planning on moving on and enjoying my music a little!
