Do They Actually Work? August 14, 2008 David (Winchester, UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Yes. As passive headphones, they work as well as any stereo headphones would be expected to. When the noise cancellation is turned on, there is a noticeable level of background hiss. (In theory, white noise tends to make interference less annoying subjectively.) In the home, any external noises are reduced significantly. These include a washing machine spinning, a dishwasher or even the fan in a lap-top. Obviously, noise reduction cannot perform miracles (e.g. noise in a tube train) but, for the price, they have a place in the market compared to those costing ten times as much.
Pretty good for the price August 13, 2008 G. Ward (Sunny Glasgow) These headphones do not a bad job of their title ( noise cancelling ) I work in a very noisy environment with lots of machinery and these headphones really make a difference to sound quality. The only negative problem i would give them is that they are not too comfortable a fit, but maybe thats just the shape of my napper :o) Overall i would recommend them...
Good value for money May 27, 2008 C. P. Gill (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These were the first noise cancelling headphones I've used. For the price I feel they do a decent job of reducing the background noise on planes, and generally I can't believe that much more expensive models could do a vastly superior job. Why spend 200 more? Can't see the point myself. Give these a go and see for yourself.
Noise APLIFYING headphones. March 27, 2008 SBS 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Traffic noise is a major problem when using ones mp3 player out and about. I decided to invest in some noise cancelling headphones. As passive headphones these are great, sound is awesome BUT turn on the noise cancellation and, yes background noise is reduced slightly, but the slightest breeze goes past and all you can hear is CSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH CSHHHHHHHHHHH CSHHHHHHHHHH louder than any noise or music. Essentially, this makes them unfit for purpose
