shutting down problem February 10, 2008 silkobilko 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have had these for about 6 months. They have been pretty good, but with an occasional spontaneous shutdown of the base unit. The sound was reasonable, but not much bass. There is a constant hiss, but I think this is to be expected of all wireless headphones. The hiss is not noticeable when sound is playing. All in all I was happy enough with them as I only used them for listening to DVD's through a portable. The unit has input via phono or 3.5 inch jack so you should not have any problems connecting to any audio device and cables are supplied. Battery length is good and is more than enough for a few films. Rechargables are supplied and are easily replaced with AAA batteries of any type. 6 months on and the problem with shutting down became a real pain. They base unit would stay of for anything between 3 and 30 mins. Once they shut off the only way to get the sound back is to unplug from the mains and plug back in. The headphones are designed to shut off when there is no sound detected or when you take them off, but the base unit should stay on. Watching a film would mean having to get up several times to switch on/off the base unit. It is a pain when you are mid sentence in a gripping scene and the sound just stops dead. They are no longer usable and I have asked for a replacement/refund.
Poor Quality!! October 7, 2007 Scott (Essex, UK) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought these headphones from the Sony Centre in Bluewater. They're rubbish. There's virtually no bottom end whatsoever. If there's any high frequency's that are loud (I.e a crash cymbal in music - yes, that basic!) the sound almost halves in volume for half a second or so. Steer clear of these things, you'll be disappointed.
good but not that good. October 2, 2007 D. Hancox (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
well at least they work but the sound quality is not that brilliant. I can only say that speech sounds similar to what you would get holding two baked bean tins to your ears, Tinny. listening to a TV prog with a live audience can be painful with the audience applause sounding something akin to hailstones on a tin roof. On the plus side music is reproduced much better. I have seen these headphones for sale elsewhere at 79.99 and would have been very disappointed had I purchased at that price. Because of the sound quality I feel these headphones only warrant three stars.
Excellent product September 22, 2007 Melody King (United Kingdom) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I recently purchased these headphones from Amazon, and they far surpassed my expectations, the sound quality for music is excellent, there is silence when nothing is playing, and they turn off if no signal is received which conserves battery life. The volume capability is more than adequate and far too loud for my comfort at about 1/2 way, and I'm not adverse to loud music. While moving around if the signal is interrupted, you get a drop in volume, which is far preferable to the old hissing and crackling my original wireless headphones use to suffer with. I am very pleased and highly recommend these. They are stable on my head, normal movements (and a bit of jigging about)haven't made them fall off, and I have quite a small head. They are very comfortable to wear. It's very convenient being able to use normal batteries as well as having the rechargeable unit included. Not a single disappointment or niggle. These are brilliant!
