Good Product but not incredible November 1, 2008 S. Ukachi (London - UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just received my speakers this morning and they worked straight out of the box. I have to say I am really surprised by how tiny the speakers are. They are much smaller than I expexted. They really look solid and neat like a finished product. However, the sound is average and that makes me say that you get what you pay for. Considering their size and price, I did not expect them to sound brilliant but they are good and acceptable. I like the fact that I just stick them in the USB port and away they go. I do not have to start looking for tiny holes to plug things into. My only gripe is that they do not have the on/off button which I like to have in my speakers. In all, I am pleased with the product and I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
be careful before you buy September 23, 2008 Rl Instrell (UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hi folks. I am currently working in Iraq in an environment with constant low level background noise and so decided on the strength of reviews to buy these speakers to supplement my laptop speakers. If you are in a similar situation - DON'T. The output is absolutely feeble. Indeed, my computer speakers were better. What is worse though folks is that after installing these speakers, my own computer speakers crashed out and disappeared. A computer expert here restored the system and found that they did exactly the same thing to his own computer. So, unless you are a decent computer geek, I would avoid these like the plague. Extremely dissapointed to say the least. They get one star because at least they work.
you get what you paid for. July 4, 2008 A. hye (London) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After reading the five star reviews I decided to buy it. I've been using it for a day. The reviewers who gave it five stars and said that they listen to "itunes", " heavy rock, vocal and classical" and "watching DVDs or listening to CDs" need to get their ears tested. This is completely unsuitable for listen to music. The speakers aren't up to it. I'm using it to listen to podcasts and talk radio stations online. Good points. Works out of the box (I have vista). I didn't have to install any drivers. Small and very light. No power adapter or mains power needed. Value for money. The sound is what I expect for 10. Bad points There is a yellowy/green light on one of the speakers which is very annoying especially because the leads are very short so it's impossible to position outside the field of vision.
A Little overrated June 29, 2008 Mr. K. A. Parhad (Nottingham) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought these speakers after reading the thoughts of other amazon customers, who all bar one gave rave reviews.I have to admit that when set up i was rather disappointed.Altough the sound quality is quite good it is no better than the built in speakers of my laptop (Toshiba 1.66 GHZ). On the plus side with windows vista you just plug in and your away .
Not as good as reviews suggest May 3, 2008 Ger (N. ireland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I recently bought these speakers for a laptop - and to be honest the internal laptop speakers are better (and they arent up to much) - Maybe I was expecting too much given previous reviews. I found sound is tinny, theres a major lack of bass and the maximum volumn level I could get out of them was pretty poor. But I suppose at the price its a case of getting what you pay for.
