The PillowTalk is basically a speaker on a wire that you tuck under your pillow. It enables insomniacs, people who get up in the night for their children, or people who have a different body clock from their partners, to listen to the radio without disturbing the sleeper next to them. You can go to bed learning a different language or listening to your favourite audio book. The unit is about the same size as a large pair of earphones and is suitable for any radio, radio cassette, clock radio or other equipment fitted with a 3.5mm headphone socket.

I'd have to argue with the claim that this item ensures anyone sharing the bed isn't disturbed, at all. It's not quite that good, but does a fair job of reducing the noise of a bedside radio in general, and it's a handy item to have, if sharing the room with another person.
** Be Warned** - the volume of your radio will need to be considerably turned up to hear it through the pillowspeaker (and your pillow!) so standby to turn the volume DOWN swiftly, if you unplug the speaker - or you'll deafen the neighbours!
