Using 2.4GHz radio frequnency transmission these powerful wireless speakers give superb quality treble and bass with excellent clarity over a 50 meter maximum outdoors and 30 meters inside with out any frequency drift. Using state of the art wireless RF technology these speakers also give amazing reception from their transmitter. Just plug the transmitter in to any headphone jack or RCA / phono audio output you like i.e. your home stereo, MP3 player, TV etc and listen wirelessly to the audio around the house. Now you can listen to your favourite MP3 tracks in the shower, on the patio for your BBQ, cut down your wires for your PC and have these as wireless computer speakers, wireless stereo bedroom speakers etc. The speakers can be powered via the mains adapters that come with them or via the internal high capacity rechargeable batteries - which gives you around 5 hours of playback. To top the package off a remote control is included to allow you to control the volume level with out having to traipse forward and backward to your audio source i.e. stereo or computer. The speakers have their own volume control located on the rear of each wireless speaker - which means each speakers volume can be controlled independently... handy for having the speakers distributed through out the house. As for quality of sound wireless speakers haven't always been the best but the Voyager VYSS wireless speakers really do create powerful as well as clear audio with out any degradation and we're certain you'll be impressed. First off, the suppliers, In21Direct, were excellent. The order was shipped within 4 hours of being placed and when I contacted them for a refund there were no hassles.
Onto the product...
On receiving the speakers I immediately set them up and plugged the transmitter into my PC via the supplied jack plug. I then spent the next 5 minutes pointing the remote control at the speakers from every conceivable angle and height trying to get any kind of sound out of them. Finally I replaced the supplied batteries with new ones and 'Hey Presto' we have a wireless sound system.
My wry smile didn't last long though, half way through the first track a distinct crackling could be heard from one of the speakers. Hoping this was just interference, and it may well be, I tried all 3 of the available channels but the best I could get was a quiet intermittent crackle. Ok, I thought, I bought these for use in the garden and the crackling is now quiet enough that it probably won't be noticed when outdoors catching a few rays.
I then put them on charge for 12 hours to test the batteries. When charging was complete I switched them on again but one of them would not work without the AC adapter connected even though it showed a full charge.
It was now time to read the user manual from cover to cover just in case I had missed something. This was when I got my next surprise bearing in mind these are 'Splash Proof Wireless Speakers'. The following quote is directly from the user manual....
'Whilst the speakers can be used inside or outside they are NOT waterproof. Do NOT expose the loudspeakers or the transmitter to rain, splashing or moisture of any kind'
So it was now time to get everything sorted and arrange a refund. This is when the 'Coupe De Grace' of this whole episode came along. I sat down at my pc and the network connection was going up & down like a yoyo. After resetting both the modem and the wireless router without success I thought 'it's probably the ISP and I would try again later'. I unplugged the transmitter to box it for return and, as you may have already guessed, my network connection stabilised. I plugged the transmitter back in, yoyo effect, out again and stable. Once again I tried this on all 3 channels with the same problem. While it was in the 'Bouncy Rubber Ball' mode I checked the lights on my router and it was like something out of a night club.
