The all round boot October 26, 2008 C. Hatfield (Leafy Warwickshire) I've always wanted a pair of these boots. I can't think of anything more practical. I've worn them at work (trousers hide the top bit), socially (with jeans or combat trousers) and on my motorcycle (keeps your ankles warm). The latter is a real boon because you can get off the bike and walk around in comfort (try doing that in motorcycle boots). OK they're not as protective as proper motorcycle boots, but they do give some ankle support and have a tough sole. They're OK for short trips. I love them and wonder why it's taken so long for me to buy a pair.
Put a bounce in your step October 17, 2008 Dr. H. Beentje (Kew, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
What is not to like? This is a true classic, and even if you don't care a hoot about classics, it is a seriously good boot. The air-sole puts a little bounce in your step; it gives good ankle support; it feels all-round good, and it looks pretty neat, too. Mind you, you have to walk them in a bit - they are not comfortable right from the beginning. But don't give up, walk around in small bits at the start, and in a while it will shape itself to your feet and feel like a perfect fit. Some people recommend putting them in a bucket of water and then walking around the block in them, sopping wet, to speed up the process, but I haven't tried that! I have had mine for four years and they are great. Oxblood red, if you must know, which contrasts well with the yellow trim. I have walked in town, at work and on long walks through the wilds of Surrey with them, and they are great.
Good, sturdy walking boot for great support! July 28, 2008 R. WEST-SOLEY (Birmingham, UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The brand name speaks for itself - reliable and durable footwear which will last and last. I bought these as walking boots as they give your ankle such good support, and they're as sturdy as ever without looking like a hiking boot. The bouncy, cushioned sole is a great bonus too, as it takes the jarring edge off walking (especially downhill) and gives you a bit of spring in your step. They're also really smart and look very decent with trousers or jeans!
