I bought these to do a walk in The Cairngorms. They are comfortable enough when walking on tarmac, but lack sufficient cushioning to be useful for hiking. After 20miles of hard pounding in one day, my feet were aching. They now feel as if they have had it, and I'm consequently looking for a pair of Merrells. This is very much an example of you get what you pay for. Good for roads, and "short" walks, but not for tracks/trails or anything beyond a couple of miles!

4 out of 5 stars at 21 GPB. I'd have been most disappointed if I'd paid the full price for them. The fabric loops for the laces are fragile and within a month one loop had snapped. The soles are not springy but seem to grip well.
