Good moves, not the greatest workout September 7, 2008 Yoga Bird 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this DVD to use as a cardiovascular workout. It has several good features and some drawbacks. Good features: *Can choose track easily *Good scenes for learning the moves *Several options for watching the routine *Good chart music to dance to Drawbacks: *After you have learnt the moves it doesn't really go anywhere. The performance scenes are difficult to follow if you need a prompt. What it really needs is a studio scene that just runs through the whole routine. *There is little flow. You have to go through the menu for everything. Overall this is a good DVD to learn a street style of dance, but is not ideal if you are looking for an aerobic workout (although it will get your heart up). It is fun and worth considering if you'd like to try something different.
Keeps you on your toes June 19, 2008 IT Queen (UK) I liked this one better than the Street Dance one and I found Paulette had a very friendly manner and talked through the moves adding little jokey comments. It is tricky but this is a dance fitnes DVD not an aerobics DVD and I loved the fact that you have to remember the moves etc giving your brain a workout too!!! No real ab toning section warm up pays "lip Service" to this but I always end up having to do a few crunches at the end until I fell that I have had a good tone up
Need an experience with dance February 24, 2008 R. osmaston (South West UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I danced allot when i was younger so I didn't think that this would be much of a problem for me and I didn't want a dvd that said it 'tought' you how to dance because i naively thought i could, but this dvd is quite difficult to keep up with as the moves are quite fast and i am used to seeing dance teachers dance from behind but it is very confusing becuase they are facing you so you have to work out which way to this and that, so when i get round to doing it i give up on the dance and just do the warm up and the cool down.
too funky February 10, 2008 horsey helen (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this too funky and struggled to pick up the routines. If you do work through a routine and get warm you then cool down quickly trying to learn the next one which I didn't like. In the end I just watched the dancers doing the routines which isn't really the point !!
couldn't keep up February 7, 2008 susie blue sky (essex uk) I bought this because it was highly rated and I JUST WANT TO WORK OUT. I was spitting feathers after the first three 'eights' as I could not keep up. It was way too fast for me, I cannot learn that fast. I just want something I can DO. I was really disappointed with this. All I want is a nice easy Jane Fonda one to do but they don't make them for English DVDs anymore. I thought from the reviews it would be easy. I could spend an hour just learning the first three 'eights'. I'm sure if someone is capable of keeping up then it is great, but not for me.
