Shin Splints Anyone?? August 20, 2008 J. Seston (England) I had this lurking in the back of my collection, and thought I drag it out again, for a change (from Karen Voight, Billy Blanks etc), well within 20 mins I remember why it had migrated to the back to the collection. I was so bored with running on the spot, and dreadful cueing, that I actually fished an old Kari Anderson one out, for some life and enthusiasm, and to save my shins. Nell, I am sure is a lovely girl, and I've obviously missed something here. And what's more I am sorry to give such an awlful review, but if you like a challenge go for Zawacki or Voight and let their personality and cueing shine.
Very disappointing July 21, 2008 Mrs. L. Pearce I've had Nell's Ultimate Workout challenge for about 18 months now and was a bit bored so I was really pleased when I saw there was new dvd out. I liked the ultimate challenge because it really worked you but was easy to follow and the bail out options were good if you were short of time or just tired. This new dvd is the same workout just without the bail out and a very condensed core section. The cardio section is basically 40 minutes of running on the spot waving your arms about and is brutal on the knees, shins and calves. I was bored stiff after doing it for about the 4th time and it isn't helped by the fact that the music is dreadful! Some decent music might provide some incentive to keep going. I can't help but think that this dvd was a cynical move on Nell's part to make some money and show off her post baby body. I'm going to go back to the ultimate challenge - once my knees and shins have recovered enough.
Fabulous and great music June 11, 2008 M. A. Wombwell (England) I work out 3/4 times a week usually to Nell or Ministry of Sound and do 1 or 2 10k runs so I expect a good workout. Not many DVD's impress me. Most of those I have bought remain in their cases having been used just once or twice. This is my favourite Nell DVd in terms of music although it is less challenging than her first and third DVD. I have used it consistently for 6 months without getting bored and still love it. Cant wait for her next one.

I am really pleased with the results of this workout, it has helped me loose alot of wieght and more importantly keep me fit. It really gets your heart rate going!
More of the same - but still a great workout! May 12, 2008 Mrs. N. Fricker (Essex) If you're familiar with Nell's DVD's you'll find the routines haven't changed much and yes, this one is a bit shorter. I didn't mind though, as it felt very much like the return of old friends and the workout is still as effective and enjoyable as ever. This one consists of a 10 min warmup, 35 min cardio session (slightly more intense than the others as there aren't as many "breaks" for squats) and a 10 min stretching session at the end (no weights). I didn't think much of the "professionally mixed" music, shame as they seemed to have gone to some effort with it! The other difference with this one is that I found it a lot harder on the calves. I've got all of Nell's DVD's and usually manage to get through unscathed, but with this one my calves kill me for the following two days! If you're new to Nell I would personally recommend her 'Maximum Impact' DVD first - despite the title this one is the lowest impact in my opinion. Peak Energy is the highest, with this one and Ultimate Challenge in between the two. Either way, once you're used to them you'll end up finding them addictive, enjoyable and as though you're part of the class, especially as it's generally the same people taking part in all the DVDs. And I can't recommend them highly enough if you want a hard, old-fashioned sweaty workout!
