5 out of 5 stars Very beneficial DVD   August 1, 2008
Reader (UK)
I started to use this DVD after 3 months of pregnancy based on the reviews on Amazon. I started off with the full session and have dropped back to the intermediate section in the DVD now that I am over 6 months pregnant. I agree with other reviewers that the DVD gives you a choice of programmes to follow depending on which stage of pregnancy you are at and also your comfort level. This also ensures that the routines don't get monotonous as you can pick and choose the programme you want to do on a particular day. I did buy another DVD but this is the one that I have stuck to and will carry on following until the end of my pregnancy. I find that I am rested and invigorated at the same time afterwards. I did find the tone of voice which accompanies the exercises quite dull to start with but you get used to it after a while, and the benefit of the exercises far outweigh this minor criticism.

I bought this DVD on the back of the reviews it had received on Amazon and I have not been disappointed. The DVD is clear, well paced and, thankfully, doesn't have the typical yoga music on it.
I thoroughly recommend it, mostly because of the choice of the workouts. It has workouts of varying lengths to fit in with your busy, or not so busy, day.

4 out of 5 stars Good DVD but with important caveat!   April 6, 2008

I was looking for a pregnancy yoga dvd, liked the reviews and ordered this one. The presentation is professional, a little straight perhaps, clean, simple and the voice over clearly explains the various moves - I only ever did the very first workout (of three available) as I had not done yoga before. **That is very important!!** After doing the workout once, I began to get discomfort in the front of my pelvis - yes, the start of SPD (you ladies know what I mean). It turns out that not only does pregnancy make it easier to bend where you want to, it also softens up your ligaments - and as I was NEW to yoga, I really shouldn't have done this without a qualified teacher (according to the physio who has given me alternative exercises). If you are normally quite flexible but haven't done yoga before, please go to a good local class and if all is well, THEN buy a DVD - this one is very good - once you're fine. Ideally, do yoga before you're pregnant... although if you're like me that warning is a bit late ;-)

5 out of 5 stars Better than expected   March 11, 2008

The truth is, whenever I've tried yoga in the past, I've never really liked it. I've always wanted to like it, but never did. This is the first yoga class (both DVD and at the gym) that I've liked! It is very relaxed, helps me with my breathing, and makes visualizing what's happenning to my body easy.
I definitely recommend this DVD! I'm in my 18th week, was able to do all the positions in the beginner 30 minute session without difficulty.

5 out of 5 stars BUDDHA BELLIES   March 6, 2008

Inspired by Vanda Scaravelli, Nicole offers a wonderful introduction to Yoga for Pregnancy with three guided sequences. These are of varying lengths and adapted to suit different stages of pregnancy from 14 weeks to full term. Beautifully filmed, Nicole elegantly demonstrates the postures while 6 months pregnant, with clear background instructions. The timing is very good and one really gets the feel of the flow of the asanas guided and facilitated by the all important breath. The DVD aims to empower and help mums to be at all stages of pregnancy, offering a simple to follow guide which can easily and safely be used at home. Excellent. Yoga & Health magazine.
