Disappointing July 3, 2007 H. Miller (England, GB) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I purchased this title ahead of other similar products as not only does it feature "7500 of your favourite food counts" but also "their exercise equivalents for walking, running, biking, swimming, yoga, and dance". Great! I thought, as I am currently on a body building programme and believed that this book would it would be a prudent investment allowing me to pick up some more weightloss pointers. How wrong I was. For a start, the paper quality of the book isn't very good - it's like a newspaper really and the lack of gloss and absence of pictures (whilst not strictly necessary) make it look like rather an amateurish effort. Secondly, this is an American book, hence, all measurements are imperial (lbs, oz etc.), not metric (g, kg etc.). In addition, the detailed lists of Fast Food products relate largely to US only outlets i.e. Taco Bell, Wendy's etc - no use to me. Overall, I invested in this book not only to find out how many calories were in everyday meals to help my diet plans but also to guide my training as to how many minutes my work out should last, given my calorie intake. As it is, this book was of little or no help to me personally. It may be beneficial to some, but I am sure that there are better presented and certainly more accessible books in this price range.
