might be good for beginners May 6, 2004 Miss GC Charleton (UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
bought this book to learn drills to improve my current swimming ability. I found it pretty useless as most of the drills were basic and not very well demonstrated. Could be of better use for a beinner/intermediate swimmer
Poor... December 9, 2003 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this book with the aim of learning butterfly. I found it of no use at all... It gives poor illustrations of all the drills and makes no effort to put all the drills together to form a complete stroke. Maybe it's for people who can already do all the strokes and just need fine-tuning... either way, it's of no use to me.

the best insight into improved swimming techniques I've ever come across. Throw away all those mindless drills most of which are only any good for muscle development and usually in the wrong place, and start to understand what swimmers should be doing with their stroke. When you've understood the basics you invent your own drills to achieve the most economic style for you. When you talk to kids and explain the dynamics you are aiming to achieve and give them an appropriate exercise they take it in and realise why they are doing it.
VERY WELL WRITTEN AND EASY TO INCORPARATE IT August 25, 1999 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I TOOK THIS BOOK OUT AT MY PUBLIC LIBRARY AND REALLY WAS EASY TO UNDERSTAND THE TECHNIQUES AND USE THEM DURING MY WORKOUTS. IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STROKE, THIS BOOK WILL HELP YOU USE DRILLS TO ELEVATE THAT STROKE. A MUST READ!!
Basic swimming book August 14, 1999 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
If you have just started swimming, then this book suits you well. I find the approach a bit too basic for a regular swimming. Otherwise, this book may be too basic and too limiting with the drawn pictures of the the strokes.
