A trip down memory lane October 27, 2007 C. Ashton (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was looking for the theme tunes for the Trumpton, Chigley and Camberwick programmes, when I stumbled on this little gem! After watching the first few episodes I happened to mention to my brother about buying and watching them, and now I have been requested to buy a set for him too! A wonderful reminiscence about such a beautiful little world! I'm glad I went hunting around Amazon that day.

I was bought this for christmas and I have been glued to the box since. Any excuse to turn it on and it's on full belt. I've also introduced my 2 1/2 year old daughter to the joys of windy miller, pipin fort and chippy minton (and his son nibs). She loves it. This is truely from an era that unfortunately will never see the light of day again. Brian Cant is a god. For everyone who remmembers the series this is a must, to all those who don't, get it and marvel.
Wonderful Stuff September 25, 2006 Mr. L. N. Taylor (Essex, UK) 43 out of 43 found this review helpful
A fantastic trip down memory lane for us adults, and an introduction to some truly classic childrens TV for today's youngsters. If you are fed up with banality and political correctness of childrens shows like Balimory & The Tweenies this is for you. From a bygone more innocent time, the shows have lost none of their ability to charm. Originally released as 3 seperate volumes at around 13 each, this set represents great value for money. It also comes in a very nice presentation box. My only complaint is that although they have done a great job of digitally restoring the picture (the original DVD releases were appalling)Universal Studios have failed to address the annoying and distracting picture wobble in episode 1 of Trumpton. I think with the technology available that could have been sorted. I hope (and believe) it is confined to just the one episode. Also, the sound isn't that great. I'm probably expecting too much from a 40 year old series in these days of Dolby Digital, DTS, THX though!!! If you haven't got it, get it. If you haven't got young kids, pretend you have and relive your childhood!
