Amazon.co.uk Review Real-life couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn star in this enjoyable 1987 comedy by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) about an imperious heiress (Hawn) who loses her memory after a boating accident and is identified as the wife of a handyman (Russell). Russell's character brings her "home" to his messy house and unruly kids and the laughs follow as the aristocratic Hawn tries fitting in. Marshall delivers the comic goods, the leads are entertaining (Russell needs to do more comedy) and the supporting cast is made up of happily familiar faces, including Roddy McDowall, Edward Herrmann, and Marshall favourite Hector Elizondo in an unbilled bit part. --Tom Keogh

Goldie and Kurt act as naturals in this movie December 2, 2007 Jay (Mauritius) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The concept and the plot lines were funny and unique. The contrast between the working family and the ultra rich one, the ending where she chooses to have a life where she makes a difference instead of just wasting time, and he values her as she deserves to be valued in the end. There are parts of the movie that could have been better; some of the supporting roles were not done all that well. The rich woman's mother was great, Roddy McDowell was great, and the rich self-centered husband was funny. The movie was good family entertainment. Good for you, Goldie and Kurt.
Fabulous! May 25, 2007 Ms. A. Haworth (UK) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is one of the funniest, most feelgood films. Often when the leads are really partners there is a lack of onscreen chemistry - no idea why, but 'tis true - however here that is definitely not a problem. Every performance is truly excellent, Roddy McDowell superb as ever. WATCH IT! You won't regret it.
Hilarious! July 17, 2005 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
I LOVE this movie! Goldie Hawn is at her very best and the children make me LOL, especially the falsetto child - a big fan of Peewee Herman. The storyline is brilliant, if a little expected, but that is not a fault of Overboard. Everyone must see this film because the scene with the bababababa and the water barrel is not to missed! Hardcore fans will understand!!
Brilliant Laugh June 5, 2005 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is a great movie about a rich women who has an absolutely obnoxious personality. Along comes single dad Kurt Russell who decides to take revenge on the women who has amnesia. No one claims to know her and Kurt needs a babysitter. Then its a riot a minute, its of pranks and jokes on the poor women! Its a great laugh and you can watch it time and time again! I've watched it countless times and it still makes me laugh! The on screen chemistry is obviously great!

One of the funniest films ever. I could watch it over and over again and never get fed up. An all time favourite, not to be missed.
