Classic and Groovy! August 27, 2006 M. Kim (London) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
Oh, this is a fantastic and cool dvd set. The age does not matter and pink panther suites everyone! It is great to see all the episodes together in one dvd set and because there are no speaking (some), you can empty your head, relax and just enjoy!
Who can compare Region 1&2 releases??? March 20, 2006 8 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought region 2 edition...before MGM released US Full Screen version. I have read that both contains same features. Hmm, as I know both play approx. 780 min. Region 2 contains 4 dvd's, US edition, 5dvd's with such extras like: Behind the Feline, the Story Behind the Animation, How to Draw the Pink Panther...etc. I can't find them on Region 2 Pan & Scan release. If anybody can compare both editions, please do. Besides, this is a great collection even in 16:9 but i'm going to buy US version soon for one more*
Buy the US release instead February 13, 2006 shli (San Jose, CA USA) 19 out of 23 found this review helpful
The US release (NTSC, region-1) contains 5 DVDs. But same contents as the UK release (4 DVDs). The biggest difference is the US release is shown in the original 4:3 full-frame, not like the chopped Pan & Scan in the UK release. I originally bought the UK release. Now I bought the US release again.
Clipped? Who cares? December 9, 2005 Pedro Javier Serra Serrano (Spain) 10 out of 20 found this review helpful
Four discs full of material are worth buying and it was not a problem for me that the original cartoon has been chopped. It's still great. Image quality is great too.
Quoi? Ou est l'Inspecteur? August 13, 2005 Jb Mills (UK) 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
Great collection of all the cartoons, apart from the frame clipping problems mentioned by other reviewers (can not see the full frame despite trying all the settings on my reasonably good quality DVD and TV). BUT I was expecting the Pink Panther show, which means the Inspector cartoons as well . . . truth be told, these were my favourite bit .... and there's not even a mention here. At least there is the opening sequence to the show, where the boy drives the Panthermobile to Graumann's Chinese theatre and the Panther - and the Inspector! - get out. I always wanted to know how a kid that age got to drive such a cool car! Still glad I bought it BUT I won't be watching it as often as I anticipated.
