Tommy Boy [1995]

I have probably watched this film over 10 times and still laugh at least a few times every time i see it, it provides anyone looking for a good laugh, not a lot of plot and a hell of a lot of slapstick humour with all they need...

Chris Farley plays the slapstick idiot to almost utter perfection and would give laurel and hardy a good run for their money whilst he is fairly well complemented by David Spades more serious and sarcastic character who at times delivers utterly brilliant one liners...

Tommy Boy however, isn't for those looking for substance, the plot could easily be referred to as 'non-existent' as everything revolves around 'Tommy' being a total idiot...

My vision is slightly blurred as a Chris Farley fan, but Tommy Boy is a good laugh and definitely worth watching over its short running time (93 minutes, almost half any lord of the rings film! : D)

This is a film which kept me laughing the whole way through, not letting me keep my sides from splitting for more than a couple of minutes...

Chris Farley although never an intelligent character in his films, plays the slapstick role utterly impressively and his face when in full flight is almost enough to make my pants get extremely wet...pardon my vulgarity/ness, whatever

David Spade has his moments in the film aswell, as he plays the serious guy with the smart arse comments to compliment 'Tommy Boys' idiocy...

To speak of the 'plot' would be to speak of aliens, 'do they exist?' as one begs the question 'did they even have a script?', they sound like they might've just free-styled the entire film...

I rate Chris Farley and his style extremely highly, so my opinion is slightly biased but this is a funny, slapstick film filled with great moments you'll remember for at least a week after

Forget clever wit,this is a fantastic 90's comedy with more laughs than some of the latest flicks. Grab yourself some popcorn and switch it on. You won't regret it. Suitable for any type of audience at home - the huumour is harmless and a classic of our time - humour that only can be matched by the 'Kings of comedy' the Farrelly brothers themselves. Watch it or miss out!

I first watched this film when I was 17. Then at 20, after seeing it 3 more times, decided to hunt the video down so my partner could see what all the fuss was about. It is now the pride and joy of our video collection.

Chris Farley, as in most his films, plays a Dumb-witted childish character, Tommy Callahan. His father runs a huge successful business "Callahan’s Auto Parts". Tommy, for most of his life has goofed around, played the fool (without even trying) and now with his dad gone, he needs to step in to save the business. Ah, but that’s not all... In the background, before his father passed, he married a young woman who's plans were to take his fathers business, so not only does Tommy have to learn to be a salesman, but he has to stop his fathers business from being cashed in by his new mother and brother! Teamed up with the sensationally sarcastic and funny David Spade, they make every moment of their journey a one to remember. With lots of hilarious moments in this film, Chris and David brought tears of laughter to my eyes. Chris Farley was a fantastic comedian and actor, and this is one of his funniest films (for me anyway!)
