SERIES 10 - THE VERY LAST : ( September 15, 2004 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
THIS SERIES IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST. THERE ARE FANTASTIC EPISODES INCLUDING 'THE ONE WITH THE STRIPPER', 'THE ONE WITH RACHELS GOING AWAY PARTY' AND 'THE LAST ONE' (PARTS 1+2). THIS SERIES IS A DEFINETE,DEFINITE NEED FOR ANY FAN.BUT BE WARNED AS YOU WILL GO THROUGH 10 BOXES OF KLEENEX TISSUES!!! (ESPECIALLY FOR THE LAST ONE). OVERALL SERIES 10 IS A RARE 'MUST HAVE' IN DVDS BUT THEN SO ARE ALL FRIENDS DVDS.
Great, But without DVD Features August 31, 2004 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
Well, I was dying to get the Box set of the 10th Series, I enjoyed the episodes, but I was disappointed with the DVD features. I was expecting something special since this was the last series, anyway It's worth watching really, and bye bye Friends.
Going Out With A Bang! August 24, 2004 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
I may not be the most objective reviewer, being an enthusiastic Friends fan, but I have never enjoyed the 6 of them more than series 10 (well maye series 5... ok). There are some classic scenes from all of them, but being a distinguished Phoebetian, some of Phoebe's scenes are outstanding: see her get frustrated over Joey's absolute incapability to learn french(a truly great moment), hear the name "Regina Phalange" in french, discover with her what a "bananahammock" really is!!! Not to mention the all exciting turn of events that leads to the final break up of the gang. Many people I know cried in the last episode... I however did not... Dunno why, but I think that owning all of the episodes on DVD and being able to watch all of them over and over again kind of softened the blow. I recommend this series 10 box set, if not for the great comedy within, for the historic "goodbye" of "Friends" who became my friends and a source of laughter even during some of the hardest moments of my life. Bye guys! ;-)
Farewell Friends, its been a pleasure of a decade! August 23, 2004 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I didn't watch friends until series 4, and i was converted immediatly, now owning every video book cd ever made! and am now ploughing my way through my money to collect the dvd box sets! what a fantastic way to end season 10, one of the best series!! the highlighting episodes must be "the one where the stripper cries" i've never laughed so much! and obviously, "the last one" i was a little apprehensive that it might be a bit weepy, but they stayed true to form...began as a comedy and went out as a comedy! buy this box set....its worth every penny and more! and the box is PINK!!! Farewell friends! love ya!!
Friends for ever August 11, 2004 Petrides Antonis (Nicosia, Cyprus) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
The series had its off-moments, there is no denying that (TOW Joey speaks French was one of the less imaginative episodes in the history of the show; TOW Princess Consuela was not perfect either), but episodes like TOW the Stripper cries and the concluding extravaganza are all-time classics, which had us all reaching for the tissues: to wipe away tears of laughter and a choking feeling of pain. Someone described the separation anxiety of leaving Friends behind like "losing a limb". It is that, and so much more. Friends has been simply the best sitcom in the history of television and nothing else, even legends like Happy Days or Cheers, even come close.
