1 out of 5 stars pure incredulity   July 23, 2008

I was stunned to see that so many people have written such positive reviews for this pathetic embarrassment of a film. Words such as 'scary' and 'great cast' simply don't belong with this film. I am a big fan of low budget horror; but this was intolerable. The antagonist is such a loser, not scary, or sinister, or cool,or disturbing or anything else that can make someone evil interesting in a film. Definately in the worst 10 films i've ever seen.

2 out of 5 stars I wanted this film to be good   August 22, 2007
Lancebastion (stratazon.co.uk)
I really did hope for a great film, it's such an inspired name for a movie. However, it's not. It's cheap, it's stupid, there's little gore, no scares and a poor story.

I can forigve many flaws in films if there are redeeming elements, this really has none.

The one, sole highlight is the 'schooling' song, only because it's tragically bad.

There are better horrors, there are better vipcos.

Note, if you want to see how bad this film is there are a few clips on youtube, check those before buying.

1 out of 5 stars As bad films go, this is worse.   July 24, 2006

Now, I love dreadful horror movies, particularly of the Zombie/Slasher genre. Traditionally they are badly acted, poorly cut, plotless and have laughably bad effects. That's what makes them worthy of a late night no-brainer watch.
However, this fails to meet any of the above low standards, well below low standards. The sound quality is dreadful, the colour is overexposed and the film is more incoherent than anything I've watched in a while.
There are worse movies, but I've not yet found them.

3 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS THE TASTE OF BOGIES !! !! !!   January 20, 2006

Dont worry, the title of this review isnt meant to be true! But this is a good film!
I love the Vipco Screamtime Collection and The Nostril Picker is definetly one of the better ones! Not the best, or in the top 10 but still good! I dont know why i like it either, i dont mind films with bad acting, bad film quality, low budjets and aweful gore effects (and this film film doesnt dissapoint in all of these things!) and even if you dont mind these things in a film then this is still a crap film in almost every way. Yet for some reason i like it!
Probably the only thing i did like about this film was the story which no matter how bizzare and strange it was it actually worked quiet well! It goes on the simple but strange story of a man who finds a way to turn himself into a woman and bieng the slob he is (when i say slob i mean it, he looks and acts like a real grade-A turd, good acting really) when in his woman form does some strange things (the way this is filmed is surprisingly good, you nierly always see him in his man form yet the people around him react to him as if he was a woman, his reflection shows him as a woman too), for a strange reson this maniac starts to track down and kill a couple of teenage girls by hanging out with them in his woman form and getting invited into their homes! This carrys on throught until he is finally caught, this also leads to a good, and as usual very wierd, ending! The death scenes in this film arent especially violent really, therse one decent scene where a girl gets all her fingers cut off with one swipe of a swich-blade (which is exagurating how sharp a simple pocket-knife is really)!
This DVD is apparently the UNCUT version but it doesnt matter really because therse not much to see in the Cut version that is that disturbing!
This comes with the usual Vipco' DVD extras: nothing eccept a couple of trailers which are for the same films every time!
ONLY BUY IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THIS TYPE OF B-MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Nostrilicious!   December 12, 2004

I was intrigued with this dvd I first spotted it in a local shop, and I must confess I was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing it due to it's quite frankly low-budget appearance. But I found myself giving into it's charm and bought it none the less!
I can now confidently say that I am not sorry about buying it in the least! Not only is the plot coherent and enchanting, but it will scare the living daylights out of you, whether it be your first or your hundrenth viewing, there is just something about this movie that entraps you and takes you on a gruesome ride through the psyche of it's main character! Despite this, anyone that enjoys a dash of wit in their horror movies will be thrilled upon watching 'The Nostril Picker'. When I wasn't cowering behind the sofa in fear, I was trying to stop my sides from splitting! This film has the entire package needed for a top quality piece of cinematography in my eyes, and is bound together with a selection of great actors, who really seem to get their teeth into theri roles. Buy this DVD, I think you will agree, it is quite simply...Nostrilicious!
