Pure genius January 6, 2007 Alex (england) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Pure is on of the most emotional, har-hitting films I have ever seen. With a stunnng performance from youngster Harry Eden, whon really brings to life the seriousness of Drug addiction and abuse. Harry plays the part of 10 year old Paul, who is trying desperatly to save his mother from destroying herself through Heroin. Pure really shows how a young boy can take on almost anything to save his mother. Outstanding!
Harrowing but beautiful film. July 31, 2006 Rai Clews (England) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This film shocks and moves you at the same time. From the opening scene where we see a ten year old boy preparing his mum's "medicine", through increasingly desperate situations to the hopeful conclusion we see the insidious effect of the drug culture on individuals, families and communities. It would make a good starting point for discussion about the subject matter, though the 18 certificate effectively excludes it from school use. All the performances are excellent, particularly from the newcomer, Harry Eden, who is the heart of the film. This film deserves a wider audience, so watch it and tell your friends.
