Amazing set of dvd's October 16, 2008

This is an amazing series. id watched a few episodes of the x files on TV before and loved them and when the set was cheap and i had some birthday money floating around i thought id invest in this set. What a decision, this is probably the best Sci-fi program of the past two decades. The central 'mythology' episodes keep you glued on the edge of your seat and the 'monsters of the weeks' and the rest of the episodes are equally as good. especially good to see a series such as this exhibit comedic value as well. i purchased this set on the 11th of august and have only just finished watching them on the 16th of october and thats watching at least one a day. there are also in depth documentaries on discs and special features for each series. The first feature film is a great film to stand alone and a nice tie in between series 5 and 6. although, in my opinion, the last few episodes that were without david duchovney in series 9 suffered a bit from his absence but they are still in a league of their own. i cant wait to see the new film when its out on dvd as i missed it at the cinema and word is their is a possibility of a third film to do with the alien invasion of 2012. if your a fan of the series you will buy this anyway but if youve never seen it and take the chance you wont be dissapointed

i bought this box set after seeing the trailer for the x-files: i want to believe and felt that before i saw it i should see the series and i wasent dissapointed its amazing .seasons 1-7 focus on the mulder & scully relationship david duchovny and gillian anderson are amazing as the leads although season 1 starts off a bit slow it soon picks up pace delivering some amazing episode seasons 1-7 have running themes throughout the main one being the abduction of mulders sister the event that compeled him to become involved with the x-files in the first place other themes inclued alien/human hybrids, alien invasion,abductionn and the alien virus(the black oil) there are also many memorable returning characters my favorite being alex krycek. season 7 ends with mulder being abducted by aliens marking the end of him as a regular character. in season 8 scully is given a new partner john doggett i was prepared to hate him but he is a brillent character and you realy start to care about him. towards the end of the season mulder returns and its brillent to see david duchovny back but its sort lived as he dissappers at the begining of season 9 and dosent appear in the season at all antill the 90 miniute season end in season 9 doggett takes center stage as he is assined a new partner monica reyes (she also brillent) and scully becomes more of a background character as i said before this is a fantastic boxset at a fantastic price don't miss out

An excellent boxset - over 177 hours of viewing for around 70. Well presented - supurb quality. Series 1 to 4 are in 4:3 aspect full screen, 5 to 9 in 16:9.
Buy it - re-live the mystery, the suspense, the intrigue and the conspiracies! Watched first series so far - thoroughly entertaining! Recommended.

i love the x files and this was very handy for me because i bought season one but i couldn't be bothered to keep going out and buying the separate box sets so i just bought this. So now i don't have to worry about going out and buying another season because Ive got them all, so for those you want to get the x files on dvd just buy this, you wont be dissapointed.

This groundbreaking show changed the face of television forever and is still loved by millions of fans worldwide. In Sweden, X-Files fandom correlated with Internet use. Early ISP:s such as Algonet experienced that logins went down to zero (0) as TV4 syndicated X-Files at 9 pm back in 1994.
There is no other show like it.
