Unreliable digital transmitter and poor mountings June 23, 2007

I own the C4DS version of this computer which has an identical digital transmitter and handlebar mount. Although the build quality and display clarity of the computer itself is very good, the handlebar mounting bracket has lasted only one year with light (400 miles on tarmac) use. I notice that the replacement handlebar mount has since been discontinued with no obvious alternative, rendering the computer useless. The transmitter is attached to the forks with 2 cable ties and after a while needs to be repositioned when erroneous speeds are displayed. There are better value for money computers around and I for one shall be trying the Cateye Micro which is wireless, has an LED backlight for night riding and hopefully better mounting brackets.
