davina the box set review September 29, 2008 Ms. N. binfield (england) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is by far the best workout dvd i have ever bought. in just 2 weeks i have toned up have more energy and feel loads better. the box set is good value for money and allows a change between workout types. i would recommend this to anyone who wants to change their shape particulary after having children. i have found it fun and encouraging.
Great September 21, 2008 Dr Seuss (UK) The 30 minute workouts are great. I used to find that can't cope with more than 30 minutes exercise at a time, as I get bored and that makes me not start in the first place. HOwever because this is only 30 minutes, I am sooo much more likely to do it as it doesn't feel so long and seems to go quickly. The moves are even suitable for doing in in a small-ish sitting room. If you're not up for jumping up and down then you can do the Core Strength work out. I haven't tried the other DVD yet because the 3 30 minute workouts is so good, but my sister recommends it! Very do-able excercises. Go on, get it.
Excellent if you're short on time September 16, 2008 Ms. L. C. Paine (Newquay, UK) This DVD is broken into 3 x 30 minute sections which all incorporate a warm up and cool down period. You can choose to do one, two, or all three sections if you wish. I tend to do the first section 'The Pump' (as I find that the most challenging) if I'm short on time and then for days when I have an hour or more, I'll do Davina's High Energy Five DVD combined with Ministry of Sounds Pump it up DVD (which has a much more interesting warm up and aerobics section but isn't as good as Davina for toning)If you're not very fit (like me)the first time you do 'The Pump', I guarantee walking down stairs will be very painful for a few days afterwards, thankfully after a while, it does get easier.
Well worth getting the box set -really effective if you keep at it. August 28, 2008 Hippychick (London-ish) This is an excellent value box set ( 15 for the two DVDs that are usually 13 each). Davina works with her two personal trainers , one of whom is big, bald and muscly, and the other of whom looks a little like a hamster with a squint (sorry but you are a great personal trainer if that's any consolation!) The conversation between the trainers and Davina is a little distracting but gives you the idea that they do actually know each other (unlike some celebrity DVDs where the celeb doesn't know "their" trainer from Adam) and you can turn the conversation off on the 30 minute DVD and just have the music instead. You will need some hand weights to do the 30-mins to best effect, but apart from that no equipment is needed. The soundtrack is great and you will find it's easy to keep coming back to the workouts - and when you do it really does leave you feeling fitter within weeks. Go for it!
Spoiled by Davina's endless complaining August 20, 2008 An ordinary mum (Glasgow, Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First of all, the positive - the instructors on these videos are great. They're encouraging and enthusiastic, and the routines are fun and challenging. In fact, it'd be a five-star review if it weren't for Davina's dreadful behaviour. She's like an attention-seeking child, running around, complaining, gurning, pulling faces, showing off...it's all rather demotivating. I'd expect her to cheer the viewer on, instead she's looking for affirmation herself. This is enjoyable for hard-core Davina fans only.
