 Far better than other suppliers January 31, 2008
I had tried to obtain a cover with another dealer but the product was nonsense & did not protect the screen at all & their returns process was a total nightmare. Not only is this hard case via Amazon brilliant but so is Amazon as the case was with me in 2 days from ordering. Its smart looking and not bulky and in fact the whole item is a vast improvement on the organizer I have used for the last 10 years. Nice little item.

This is a well made, compact and stylish case which protects the unit, does not make it bulky (as some leather cases do) and is easy to open (if you know how). The latch works by sliding the halves apart before snapping open, which I guess some people would miss as there are no instructions with it. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because you have to open the case like a butterfly to make the USB connection cable fit, but that is no big deal really

Palm's Tungsten series, being plastic, desperately need a decent case to protect them from the inevitable bumps and scrapes, so why is Palm's efforts so pathetic with this product? As experienced by the other reviewers, the latch on mine broke in pretty short order, unbeknown to me, while in my bag. The case is then hopeless, as there's nothing to keep it closed (except having an elastic band wrapped around it....not very professional! That aside, having to slide the PDA out of the case everytime you want to sink / recharge is a real pain.

A few weeks ago I crammed an extra file of papers into my slim briefcase, managed to close the briefcase and set off for a meeting. And then I remembered that my Palm Tungsten was in the briefcase, and when I had a look at it, the screen was badly cracked and the thing was ruined. The Palm "Hard Case" is exactly the thing you need if you want to protect your palm from being crushed. If you carry your Palm in your jacket pocket you don't need this and it will be too bulky for you. If like me you carry it in a briefcase (to make more room for mobile phone, Blackberry etc) this is really useful, very robust (the catch looks fine on mine, but even if it failed it wouldn't be a problem) and nice-looking.

this case surely is not the best of its kind, but i guess it deserves a little better than 1 star. so far, i don't have any problem with it, probably because i have been careful not to drop it (touch wood) or abuse it. i have nothing to complain about the case (or yet). But to be fair, i havent experienced any probelm doesnt mean it hasn't got any weakness.
