| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The HP Silver Flat Panel Speaker Bar lets you add stereo audio output to your HP flat panel monitor without taking up any additional desk space. The HP Silver Flat Panel Speaker Bar is an excellent choice for improving the quality of multimedia presentations, streaming online video or Web-based seminars. It attaches easily to the bottom of the monitor to bring audio support features such as high-quality speakers and an external headphone jack right to the desktop. The Speaker Bar is conveniently powered through a USB port located either on the PC or monitor (if the monitor has an integrated USB hub), so there are no power cords or AC adapters to be concerned about.

Disappointing July 20, 2007 jenchris40 (UK) I bought these shortly after buying my HP Pavilion which came with an HPw19 widescreen monitor. Despite having checked up in advance, these speakers aren't compatible with the screen - the fixings are all w-r-o-n-g!! I now have the speaker bar wedged between the monitor and the stand, and that kind of works. As for quality, the sound is tinny and crackly. They hum when not in use, and the volume control is very jumpy. They are incredibly quiet, and so I tend to have the volume turned up pretty high and then use my keyboard volume control. I'm not an avid music listener, but comparing these speakers to the ones that came with my old Time computer many years ago is like comparing a transistor radio with a DAB radio. If I want to have good sound quality then I plug in headphones. Needless to say a year on I'm back in the market for a decent set of speakers. Only good point: they don't take up any space on the desk.
