Review of Sony Micro Vault- 2 GB December 4, 2008 N. Osborn The Micro Vault is one of those products that you really wished had been invented years ago. It is perfect for your wallet and is so small and slim that you really can forget that it's there. It's so much more convenient than the vastly bigger USB sticks on the market. The only problem I've experienced is that you have to know which way round to insert it in the USB socket and it's so small that you can easily forget to remove it. Oh and some people complain about its speed, but is this really important for the vast majority of applications, such as saving Word documents.
Best buy ever!!!!!!!!! November 13, 2008 M. Dodimead (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So, so, happy. I got this product thinking the speed was going to be a tad on the small side but I was completely wrong. Transfered 1.2 gig in about 4 minutes. I don't understand why everybody has said its so slow, the only reason I can think of is that you all run rubbish PC's???? My MAC loves this product and so do I!!!!
Fantastic little drive June 19, 2008 David Cowling (Coventry, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Does everything i need it to do. Runs portable apps no problem! Comes in a highly feminine carry case, but seems up to the job of protecting it. Case can be clipped onto belt or attached to car keys, etc. Build quality is good and mine has taken a couple of beatings and still operates fine. If youre lucky enough to be able to afford multiple pen drives for music, video, documents, etc. It comes with stickers to identify each drive. Is noticeably slower than previous pen drives but not enough to be irritating. Good Job Sony!
fundamental design flaw with MacBook 13" March 20, 2008 VS (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
The drive is absolutely fine, well-priced, compact and very speedy if you bypass the proprietary Sony compression software, yet the real design drawback is in the fact that the USB contacts are positioned really low & flat between the plastic dividers. If the contacts of your USB port stick out well enough, you are in a luck, otherwise you will have to use an extra USB adapter/hub to just get it working. Sony mention it in their manual, saying "If it does not work, use an external USB hub." MacBook 13" owners beware: it will not work as it is!
Unreliable... January 30, 2008 Mr. D. M. Keen (UK) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's pretty good in many ways, like it's small enough to fit in your wallet, and it's plug 'n' play for example. But after owning it for about a month I've already lost all the memory and needed to do a reformat. So as a back up medium for your important files incase your harddrive fails, I wouldn't recommend it.
