What A nice surprise! August 6, 2008 C. Baxter After wasting time and money trying out other budget ear phones that all received rave reviews on Amazon only to turn out to be total garbage, [are you all deaf??], I was beginning to wish I had bought a decent set to begin with and not thrown good money after bad, when I saw these. A design that surely couldnt fail to fit even the wierdest of lug holes, a nice clear sound and a decent amount of bass was my reward. Cant comment on the build quality yet but they seem sound enough. These are far and away the best I have had for under 20 notes.
Excellent in-ear units, but the cable is annoying June 3, 2008 Mark Mcintyre (Oxford, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Had two pairs of these now and the sound quality is excellent. They're great for on the train as you can listen at a quite loud volume yet remain inaudible to others (a pet hate of mine is people with cheap phones that you can hear from 30 feet away, argh thats inconsiderate). These earbuds solve that problem. The one downside is the cable: this is rubberised and tends to stick to itself and to other stuff, so much so that it caused me to jerk the first pair out of my ears and wreck them.
Brilliant May 16, 2008 flatley Up until now, I've been using the Koss "Spark Plug" 'phones as they really deliver on the bass when it comes to my iPod. When my last pair broke, I went to order another set but ordered these instead. Yes, I was a bit perturbed when these arrived but, as the price was so small, I thought I'd try them out and thank God I did! A truly exceptional sound from such modest 'phones. At first, I thought they were a little too bright with a lot of top end so I changed the EQ setting on my iPod from "Rock" to "Bass Boost". Now I get a really balanced mid and treble with a bass almost as heavy as Sony's Megabass. These also seem to pick out details in the music I hadn't heard before. The fit into the ear canal is perfect for me and these don't jut out quite so much as the Spark Plugs... they do a pretty good job with noise cancellation too. Highly recommended.
great for under your crash helmet March 21, 2008 morph (brum , England) i have been trying different earphones for some time and decided to buy these plug phones. At last ear phones that stay in your ear when you put your crash helmet on, and comfortable too, good bass sound and a damm good price, i,m now going to buy some for my brother. give em a try
Excellent Value for Money March 9, 2008 Mr. A. F. Johnson (Croydon, London, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Firstly, these earplugs are the perfect compliment as an upgrade to the standard Apple earbuds. They are very comfortable, good at sound isolation though for the price the isolation is not as good as one would expect from the more expensive Shure or Eytomic range. That said they are perfect for commuting and gym use. I mainly listen to neo-soul, 80's and 90's hip hop/rap, r&b and rock/pop. As such having good bass response is of paramount importance for my musical taste. The KOSS Plug delivers awesome bass in buckets, mid-range and treble also very clear. When listening to a good tune you have no choice but to start nodding your head as the sound supplied by the KOSS Plugs is very infectious. There's no need to use the EQ at all I also had a Sennhieser CX 300 which is very comparable. The Sennheiser's are more of a natural fit for my ears and the bass is a bit more tighter more controlled compared to the KOSS Plugs. I personally prefer the KOSS for sound quality and the Sennheiser for fit. The only criticism i that wearing my KOSS plugs whilst working out in the gym, the plugs tend to lose their shape due to sweat which need replacing say after four months.
