Very pleasing and surprised August 13, 2008 G. Mclaughlin (England) I listen to music mostly while I'm at the gym and have struggled to find a set of ear-bud headphones that stay in while I'm moving. I was pleasently surprised with these, they do a really good job of sticking in the ear. More pleasing was the sound quality. For the price they are quite punchy and can throw out a good depth and bass. I've owned a more expensive version of these Sennheiser before but the sound quality from these it certainly on par. I'd definitely recommend these.
Uncomfortable and don't seal in the sound as well as cheaper Sennheisers April 3, 2008 R. Hulme (all over) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Hi, I bought a pair of these a couple of days ago after the cable on my CX300s became worn out next to the headphone jack. I was very happy with those so i thought i'd try out this model as perhaps it might be an improvement on the very satisfactory CX300s. I must say that i was pretty disappointed as these headphones are inferior in several important ways to the cheaper CX300s. Firstly, they are just really uncomfortable - perhaps it is a problem with my ears, but i tried all the different ear buds and found that the solid plastic part of the headphone would chafe uncomfortably in my ear. I even tried using the buds from my previous phones on these (which were very comfortable on those) but still was uncomfortable and my ears felt sore after a short while. My next gripe was that these phones do not block out external sounds as effectively as the CX300s and so the sound of inane station announcements on the london undergrond on my way to work was not filtered out - very annoying! Lastly, and this is a minor point, but is the straw that has broke the camel's back for me:- the headphones are NOT of the style where the cable that leads to the right earphone wraps around the back of your neck. I prefer these as you can take the headphones out of your ears and leave them dangling round your neck. Whereas with these you can't do that. On the positive side, the sound quality is pretty good, but then again, so is the sound quality of the cheaper models. So, i think i'll be binning these and getting another pair of CX300s - they're only 20 - i recommend you do the same!
Simply Amazing! March 26, 2008 G. Cooper (Birmingham, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After my iPod headphones got quieter and quieter, and sound quality thus suffered, i knew i needed to invest in some good quality earphones, that were loud enough for me, without bugging everyone else in the train carriage. i have never liked the idea of direct in the ear canal style headphones but opted for these over the 20-odd eco ear phones. after buying some Sennheiser 270-V1 headphones for use around my flat, and for doing sound work, i kept faith with sennheiser in purchasing smaller ear phones. i have had these a week, and they are simply breathtaking. The buds fit sweetly into my ear, and are not uncomfortable or intruding. the sound quality is incredible, accurate sharp bass with a balanced level of treble. I have also gone from having to turn my iPod up to maximum and struggle to hear it, to turning it down to half volume. the sound is still very loud and clear in the ear phones, but then not audible to someone sat next to me on a quiet train (i asked someone once to check!) The ear phones also look good, and on a few occasions people have asked me in the street/at the station/on the train what they are, if they were good and where they got them from. Other than my struggle to get into the shrink wrap they come in, i have nothing but positive things to say about these ear phones!
Finally, bass from the boom box! March 20, 2008 Mr. A. Tomlinson (Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These phones are a revelation, giving not just rich warmth to the bass from my Ipod, but revealing detail across the whole sound spectrum. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any portable music fan looking to increase their listening pleasure. Top notch!
Great... for in-ears January 28, 2008 Martin Eyles (Warwickshire, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These are some really great in-ear phones. Because they seal the ear, you get decent bass, which is otherwise hard to come by in earphones, and generally the sound is pleasing. There is a little experimenting to get the right size of attachment, but once you've sorted that out and put them in a couple of times, they're as easy to use as any other earphones. They also block out noise well, so I expect they'd be good on flights (although I haven't tried that), but I doubt they'd be a good idea for cyclists. However, although they are great for portable use (the best I've ever tried), bear in mind that Sennheiser's larger headphones do give better sound for the money - putting on their (quite old now) HD470, which were similarly priced open backs is a revelation in comparison. That is not to criticise these earphone for what they do - HD470 are not exactly portable, and they don't block out background noise. In summary, get these for out and about, but if you want something for home get larger headphones - preferably get both!
