Recommended for comfort June 6, 2008 P. J. Chippendale (Milton Keynes) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm very pleased with these Sennheiser headphones, which I bought six months ago. They are an excellent alternative to ear buds, sitting neatly and comfortably over the ears, supported by the neckband. They may leak sound, but they also allow sound in. I use them to listen to my mp3 player at home, on my own, or in the gym. There may be better compact earphones for hi-fi reproduction, but I use them most often to listen to downloaded voice podcasts and language courses. They are ideal for most purposes. Recommended.
Poor March 5, 2008 A. Sharaf (london) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you listen to alot of music then don't buy these. Very poor sound quality and not suited for even a moderately noisy environment. Volume has to be turned up high and even then they're quiet.
Sound is nothing special, fit is terrible February 19, 2008 Richard Drinkwater 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
As soon as I got these it felt like they were very cheap. The whole band between the headphones is plastic and sits behind the neck. This means that when I turn one of the headphones is tugged to the point that turning from side-to-side causes the headphones to fall off. They do not feel like the are held on to your head and just slot over the ears. The padding is present but due to the size of each headphone, it is not very comfortable. I am looking to replace a worn out pair of Sony MDRG73 which have given me years of reliable service. The sounds is comparable so I can't say that it is as good as the other review have stated. The final flaw I see is that they do not fold up so putting them in a bag is tempting fate to snap them or bend then badly. 2 stars because the sounds isn't bad and they do work. Can't give it any more because they feel a lot cheaper than the price on here.
Top class! September 28, 2007 Mr. S. Baldwin (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was apprehensive about buying these after reading some consumer reviews, stating that they were very fragile and that they leaked sound so badly that others could hear what song you're playing. The neckband is made from tough springy plastic and is very sturdy. The earphone jack does feel quite flimsy, but provided you leave some slack when you wrap round your mp3 player this wont be a problem. The sound leaking is noticeable; others can hear some noise in a quiet environment. However they aren't worse than any other headphones of this style and if that's going to be a problem you should really be looking at either in-ear headphones or some of the massive ear-enclosing ones that audiophiles wear. Its main weakness is in the fact that the unit is not collapsible, the headbands/earphones do not fold into a more compact form. So they take up lots of space in a bag, and don't sit flat on a desk. Which means if you bag takes a hit from being thrown nonchalantly at a sofa, or you're unlucky enough to sit on them, they might not survive the encounter. As they don't come with a case, wearing them really is the only alternative. All that said, these are the most comfortable earphone, of any kind, I have ever owned. The sound quality, being Sennheisers, is second to none in it's class. Given how cheaply Amazon is selling them as well, these really are the best wired neckband headphones on the market.
Happy with Purchase! July 13, 2007 J. Sagoo (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these headphones to run with and they are comfortable and the sound quality is very good. I wear glasses and this has not been a problem. I can see that the jack could be a weak point but I think knowing that I will be able to avoid any damage. The leakage is pronounced at high volumes but isn't too bad at low/medium volumes. I ahven't owned many headphones but I would definately reccomend these over the standard ipod ones. I have owned them for 2 weeks and the sound actually seems to be improving aswell. (must be loosening up). Overall very happy with this buy. 4.5 stars!
