Very pleased with it July 17, 2008 Sam (York, UK) I did not expect much for the price i have paid for this item, nevertheless, it surpassed my expectations by miles. The sound quality is amazingly good, especially the bass is awesome. The sound is very clear, and you would not feel any difference from any other more expensive headphones. The only thing that I did not very much like was it feels that the build quality is not that great, especially the ear pieces, they did not seem to fit well in place, and they seemed to be a bit shaky. Not a big deal if you are careful with the headphones, and for the sound quality and price, this is a must have item.
Best "budget" headphones around July 16, 2008 Mogwai84 (Sheffield, UK) Going through at least a pair a year, I use my headphones ALL the time, at work, home, jogging and wandering around. I've used Sony, Sennheiser, Koss and Shure inear and over-ear headphones for day-to-day stuff. Nothing comes close to my Grado S60s but the Creative Labs EP-630s are definitely the best budget headphones I've bought. They fit really well, and the sound is extremely well balanced with a tight bass, warm middle and clear top end. The only downside is the thin cable, and poor joint at the split. Also being ear-canal phones, I wouldn't recommend just leaving them in a bag or pocket as they will get dirty - Creative don't supply a case but a small sunglasses bag or something I find does the trick. The fact that these headphones sound better than 40-50 pound 'professional' headphones means they are great value and definitely worth 5-stars
Creative EP-630 Earphones July 15, 2008 A. Steed (UK) After comparing these headphones against the ones that came with my iPod I have noticed the following: 1) There is no sliding connector for the two wires that are attached to the earpieces so they do tend to tie themselves up in your pocket. 2) The largest rubber attachment produces the richest, deepest sound, but the quality difference between the large size and the medium size is negligible. To me, the sound becomes much more tinny with the small attachment. 3) The connector is of reasonable quality with a gold coating but the earpieces have a rather cheap, "plasticy" feel that you might expect to find on earphones in this price range. The sound quality (when using the large rubber attachment) is very good for earphones of this price: noticeably better than the iPod's. They produce slightly richer sound and perform much better in the bass section; as it says on the box, "designed for deep bass". They are also reasonably effective at blocking exterior noise (with music on at a low-mid volume you can click your fingers next to your ears without hearing them). The earpieces are compfortable and havn't been popping out of my ears all the time. Ultimately, these are good replacements for the iPod earphones and are good value for money ( 8 at the time of writing).
Stopped working July 14, 2008 Peter T (london, London United Kingdom) Beware. After about two weeks the right headphone stopped working. Several other reviewers have had exactly the same problem so I am assuming it is not my earwax. Consequently I feel forced to give one star. While they were working they were perfectly OK for the money, but not great.
Good but not great July 14, 2008 J. Abbott (UK) Purchased these as cheap replacement to Ipod headphones. Pros - the price, they fit nice and snug and block all external sound. be sure to use the correct size earbuds to ensure they're comfortable. Sound - good all round sound. Cons - any slight knock to the cable when walking or running will be heard in the headphone. This means these are only really good if you are listening when stationary.
