3 out of 5 stars Good sound, but there are comfort issues   June 27, 2008
Gihan Marasingha (England)
I mainly bought these for use with my Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman Phone. The sound quality is good, and the volume control is essential for my purpose (Google "W810i hiss" to find out why). The main drawbacks for me are:

(a) The discomfort. It does get better after a while, but is never really comfortable.

(b) The little rubber bits have a tendency to fall out. Fortunately, the MX55VC comes with a few a spares.

2 out of 5 stars Sennheiser MX55VC   June 10, 2008

Good points. 1. I like the way they actually stay in your ears. They can be uncomfortable at first but surprisingly you soon become accustomed to them. 2. I also like the sliding volume control. 3. They have plenty of detail at upper mid to top ends
In reality:
For me they sound far too bright, aggressive and unfortunately, as seems common with this design of headphone, they lack base. Even after running them in and trying every combination of accessory and on-ear angle they still sound irritating. If I had been able to try them rather than reading the reviews I would have saved myself 20. My bundled originals sound far more relaxing and don't have the MX55VC's really annoying stiffish curly cable.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, and only one problem   May 23, 2008

I bought my headphones for my ipod because my apple ones broke relatively quickly, from playing music too loud. I played my music through these and the sound quality was excellent, and I could play it loud without them buzzing.

The add-ons make these very versatile and the largest ones block out most noise from the surroundings.

My only annoyance was that the plastic wire covering has split on one side, so the wires continually poke out, but other than that, a very good product.

5 out of 5 stars Great sound, secure and comfortable fit!   May 20, 2008
KT (UK)
I wanted some great sounding, comfortable ear phones which allow me to hear ambient noise as well (people talking to me, cars etc) for use during running at organised events. (I would not recommend wearing ear or headphones for street running).

Having read oodles of reviews I settled on these Sennheiser earphones.

I wasn't convinced by the 'twist to fit' thing till I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised, it's really good! You can change the size of the ear bits and let them settle as far round as is comfortable.

First wearing - 2 hours, quality sound all the way, comfortable ears and the earphones stayed in fine.

Thoroughly recommended.

1 out of 5 stars Poor product   May 6, 2008
Edward Wilson (Belfast, UK)
Had these for a year now and they have just died. Snagged them on a corner of a table and they wont work at all now. Over the last few months the panels have kept falling off. The glue that holds the cover over the jack does not work, which means the plastic covering keeps falling off. Very annoying! Don't buy these I was ripped off! The sound quality is also average, nothing special.
