Product Description Light, compact and easy to use: the new Cyber-shot DSC-S730 is a great entry point to the world of digital photography! The DSC-S730 is remarkably affordable, but doesnt compromise on image quality. It lets you grab clear, blur-free photos thanks to its easy handling and user-friendly controls. Youll be able to set up shots, check results, share your photos and read menus on its 2.4 LCD display, even in full sunlight. The DSC-S730 comes with a 7-megapixel Super HAD CCD sensor that takes amazingly bright and colourful photos, and has a 3x optical zoom and ISO 1250 sensitivity mode, so you can take pictures at faster shutter speeds to reduce the risk of camera shake, even with moving subjects. If youre after a camera with great all-round performances, the DSC-S730 is just what you need.

Batteries? cant see the problem October 2, 2008 noddy g (yorkshire, england) This series of cameras are very good. My daughter ( whos 2) threw mine in the bin when i wasnt looking and it gor thrown out ! anyway, despite what some have been saying, I use rechargeable AA batteries for my Sony Cybershots and have done for 4 years ! They are so much better than non rechargeable and far more eco friendly Far more. Buy two or three packs of recahrgeables so you always have a spare and you will be ok. Best Sound quality on a small camera mic there is !
Great camera, excellent value September 4, 2008 Ms. J. A. Moore 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this camera after being impressed by the picture quality of the cybershot photos on my sony mobile phone. The camera is really easy to use, i prefer to use the auto setting and my photos always turn out well. It can take a fair amount of punishment. I have dropped it countless times on nights out and even had drinks spilled on it and it still looks and works perfectly. If you are looking for an easy to use camera that gives you great quality pictures every time then this is the camera for you.
Sony DSC-S730 - battery problem! August 28, 2008 Mrs. S. Gough (Staffordshire) 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
After reading countless good reviews about the Sony DSC-730 and owning a very good Sony Camcorder, i decided to buy it. Camera looked good, simple to use but after 20 or so pictures and a couple of short videos, batteries ran out. Replaced and same again. 60 pictures - 3 sets of batteries!! Really don't think this is practical, can't possibly carry a batch of batteries every time i take the camera out. Camara going back. Had a cheap Olympus camera before this, took brilliant pictures and batteries lasted weeks. Off to the Olympus shop then!
What I wish I'd known . . . August 13, 2008 St Peter 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
Very good camera for the money but it doesn't come with a memory card. As shiped you can store an amazing 7 pics on the camera! You need a Pro Duo card. I bought a 4Gb card (Sony MSX-M4GS 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo )which stores (allegedly) over 1300 pics so you could get away with less. Other than that, very pleased.
Best camera for under 100 August 12, 2008 Maddzz (Richmond, Surrey) 38 out of 38 found this review helpful
When it comes to buying electronics online, I always spend a good few hours (or sometimes days) reading online reviews and this came up as a very good camera for it's value. In fact, it beat many reviews for cameras over twice its price. The reviews certainly were not wrong- and was very pleased by the quality of pictures and ease of use. I bought another Sony camera about 2 years ago, slightly more expensive, and again, i bought this based on it's value and based on excellent online reviews. The picture quality is very good and i would say that about 5% of pictures i have taken have come out slightly blurred, other than that no problems. I normally just set the camera to take auto pictures (which works out how best to take the picture depending on the circumstances of the shot (e.g. night/day/snow etc.) and the pictures come out fine. You can however set it manually with easy to follow pictures which indicated on a dial for slightly better results, but I think i have only noticed better results with this so far with the 'night mode' setting. I was very surprised at the excellent quality of the video setting. This runs at 30 frames a second and does have sound. I think it would be hard to distinguish between the smoothness of this and many video cameras, especially in sunny conditions and indoors. It is also quite a robust camera, having got in accidentally soaking wet in the rain and dropping it a couple of times while running onto hard hard surfaces- works fine with nothing rattling inside! A couple of negative points which i feel may be slightly unfair, given all the positives of the camera and the price- also the reason for giving it 4 stars, perhaps 4.5 may have been fairer. The picture given on the website of the camera is slightly deceptive. The camera actually goes back a bit further than the picture indicates so is not as small as you believe, adding a bit of bulk to the back. It's still pretty compact but not as much as i would have liked. The other point was that it takes batteries and while many may see this as a convenient factor, i would disagree. Buying batteries is fairly expensive and disposable batteries are really the only ones the should be used in cameras as recharge ones are not suited and normally last half the time. A camera with a built in rechargeable battery would be slimmer, cheaper and last for longer. All in all a very decent camera, which i would urge you to buy if looking for a good quality, easy to use camera for under 100. You certainly can't go too far wrong with this neat bundle. Any questions, feel free to message me.
