Product Description This is a top quality 40cm Wooden Wobble Board or Balance Board with an easily cleanable PVC surface would be excellent in any physiotherapy department or anyone who requires regular use of the balance board. What Wobble Board do I require? There are various types of Wobble Boards - and they are available in different sizes with different levels of difficulties. Please view the information below so you can decide what type of board your require. 40cm Wooden Wobble Board - Recommended for intermediate to advance users Recommended upto a maximum user weight of 25 stone, the wobble board will retrain proprioception (the sense of balance) after injury, preventing further injury and ensuring a speedy return to sport. Failure to retrain balance after ankle sprains can lead to chronic weakness and recurrent sprains. This Balance Board has a 16 degree tilt and is recommended for intermediate to advanced user. Ideal for advanced rehabilitation and sports people and is built to last. Ideally suited for physio departments, sports/rehabilitation centres and home use

It's wobbly May 22, 2008 Mr. D. Bird 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I snapped a ligament in my knee and my physiotherapist asked me to have a go on one of these. I think the idea was that it would improve proprioreception (i.e. our ability to balance and know what our body is doing when our eyes are closed) and this in turn would reduce the risk of reinjuring the knee. I did consider my balance to be okay, e.g. I can walk along scaffold poles without holding on to something, but still I found balancing on a wobble board to be quite a challenge. As such I still feel motivated to use it, months later. If you have zero balance you can use it whilst holding on to something. I would have given 5 stars but 27 for a bit of wood seems a bit steep. It probably helps skateboarding/surfing ability but I am not so cool as to be able to confirm that.
