Itsy bitsy teeny weeny floral tent... August 27, 2008 Jayne Rowney (Holmfirth, West Yorkshire) Well, I read the reviews and tried to be on the optimistic side, but I was so wrong. I bought this supposed 2 person tent for a festival, and it was possibly the most uncomfortable two nights of my life. Firstly, there is NO WAY that two people can sleep comfortably in this tent. It looked small when I popped it up in the living room, but trying to get two people and two rucksacks in was impossible. There is just enough room to sit up - trying to get dressed in this tent is a real challenge. People were walking past saying "there's the dwarf's tent"...noone believed that two of us had managed to (just about) sleep in there. Then it rained...the tent put up a brave fight, but the teeny dimensions coupled with the thinnest of fabrics meant that the rain won and we lost. There were two good points - amazingly - the relatively cheap price meant that I didn't feel bad about leaving the wet muddy tent behind. If you are on a solo trip and want to travel light, oh and dont mind being cold and wet, then this might suit you. Sticking a bin bag over a branch and sleeping under that might still be a better option though. The other good point was that because of the size, we were able to pitch up in a very small space right near the festival arena. It wasn't worth the cold, wet, cramped conditions that we endured though. OK the floral print was nice, but good things don't always come in small packages. I'd recommend a bigger tent, more headroom and somewhere to actually move about. Think about what is important to you, and if it is warmth, space and comfort, then look elsewhere. If convenience of speed and getting a spot close to the action are more important than those creature comforts, then go for it - but don't say the reviews didn't tell you so!
Spend a bit more, don't bother with this. August 18, 2008 Phatwa (Kent, UK) Bought this tent for the V Festival and thankfully it didn't rain much! Had it had I would have slept in my mate's tent because it isn't waterproof. Some drips were coming through when it did pour. I wouldn't bother with this for festival use, the only pro is that it can be assembled in 5 secs. Worth mentioning there is NO WAY you can fit two people in this tent if you have luggage, it was a squeeze with just me. If you really must buy a quickpitch (and I can't really see why as tents only take 2-5 mins to put up anyway) I'd say make sure it's 100% waterproof and buy one double the size. It's also impossible to sit up in if you're tall like me (6ft). Much better and cheaper tents out there!
Drip, drip, drip, - nice play tent for the back garden only July 7, 2008 OK 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a misfortune of spendind a night in this tent, the condensation on the roof was running from the front to the back of the tent where my head was and water started to drip in the early hours of the morning, not ideal time to change position. The zip is very noisy, so you will wake up everyone on the pitch if you had to go out in the middle of the night. Getting out of this tent is not easy either and will be more difficult if you had to sleep head first as well...
Not a bad buy June 29, 2008 R. Hawkins (Devon, UK) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
When I bought this tent I was really worried, I read the reviews (the first 2 with only one star) and wasn't 100% sure if I should get the tent. Im not a huge fan of tents, I enjoy camping but theres nothing worse than having to take down a tent after sleeping on the floor for a number of days. I read a few more sites and they seemed fairly positive so decided to take the plunge and buy it. Im soooo glad I did! It's such an awesome tent! I just can't understand how people could only give it one star... Most tents will collect condensation on the inside and unless you have a canvas roof tents are usually not 100% water proof. Only problem I have with the tent is that it does not have a canvas bottom, the material is the same as the actual tent so if theres a tropical storm with a days worth of rain u may get a tad wet... Iv never used a tent with a base like this before so am not sure what to expect but I doubt it could be that bad. Might just get a sheet of canvas for emergencies though. It's literally a case of throwing the tent into the air and it pitches itself, taking the tent down takes a bit of practice but once uv got the hang of folding it back it takes a few seconds. If your the same as me I would defo go for one of these, seriously for the price it's totally worth it!
Not as bad as people have reviewed it ! June 23, 2008 S. Dawson (England) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I think the other 2 people have been a little overzelous with they rating. I bought this tent for my trip to Rock Am Ring this year, and i had hardly any problems with it. i used it for 3 night and on the first night it poured down with rain, i was expecting to come back to a flooded tent, onlyto be surprized that it wasn't. The only problem i had is that because the tent has no inner lining, every Morning i woke up to condession in the tent. But the tent soon driedup inside, The trick is to leave the door open a small bit. Not the best tent in the world, its really 2 small for 2 people, unless they children or midgets. But for camping out for 3 nights it did its job. Word of warning! Make sure you practise putting the tent away or you'll spend ages trying figure out how to do it.
