1 out of 5 stars Dont buy this book   November 8, 2008
Emma (Hampshire, England)
This book is awful, actually i think the whole contented little baby range of books are rigid and dont treat baby as individual.

I went the baby led weaning route with my 10 month old and it has been fantastic. Had absolutely NO issues with any solids as following the baby's lead. Also no need for all the purees etc.

1 out of 5 stars dont buy it!   November 7, 2008
Mrs. S. J. Jones (UK)
This book is too rigid for most children and wont allow them to develop healthy eating habits. Children should enjoy their mealtimes and I'm not convinced this is possible when they are dictated to!

Do yourself a favor and do a search for baby led weaning, worked a treat with my daughter!

4 out of 5 stars Very useful   September 25, 2008
Moop (Belgium)
Like many people who have not read her books, I approached a Gina Ford book with caution - but the things said about her writing are not borne out by this book. I found it very useful as a good guide to when and how to introduce solids. The recipes are very quick and easy and my baby likes them. As with any advice book you need to apply your own common sense and not get hung up on following it to the letter. I had started weaning my baby and was all at sea with when to give her food, how much etc and this book has set me straight. I would definitely recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars So helpful   September 8, 2008
Flappy Touchy Baby Books
This book was so helpful for something that should be so easy. It helped an awful lot that my daughter was on her routines anyway, and I don't think it really accommodated the fact that people might not be, but apart from that, it was so helpful. Just things like recipes, and meal plans, and what foods when. The case studies were also interesting and would be helpful, I think. They were examples of children with various problems when it came to eating, and what Gina Ford did to help rectify it. The only other thing I can think of, is the lack of portion size examples.

1 out of 5 stars inflexible approach - did not work for us   August 25, 2008

I found the book not useful at all. Gina Ford's approach is totally inflexible and rigid.

And what do you do if the baby refuses the solids as my baby did? This book does not offer any advise and help with a baby refusing solids

6.49 wasted :-(
