Leather case delivers what you want from it. Holds your "31" snugly whilst giving free and easy access to ports & buttons.
Separate place for your stylus down the inside of the spine, so you can keep one here and a spare in the Zire itself.
Two media card storage pockets and a removable extra bit for a credit card, photograph etc, etc.
By personal experience, it makes your "31" relatively bounce-proof.
Only downside I can see, is the fact that it makes your Zire a good bit bulkier than its inventor originally planned, but on the other hand it makes it easier to know its where you left it!
Haven't used the optional belt clip as yet. Fits in back pocket of my jeans well enough.All in all, I've got one and if and when I change my "31", I'll be getting a new one for the new model.
