Didn't work for me August 16, 2008 Chas (Edinburgh) Apparently saw my son's bluetooth phone, but couldn't connect to it (tried two different WinXP computers). Abandoned and bought the Belkin one, cost more but worked first time.
Nightmare August 14, 2008 Mr. Andrew C. Rigby Would not recommend this product at all. I installed the software that came with it (my machine is Windows 2000) and it disabled my internet access and my file and printer sharing. Even after un-installing, my machine was unusable. After much checking of the internet for advice, I saw a messaage from IVT (the manufacturers) saying that they had disconinued support for version 1.6 of the BlueSoleil software 2 years ago, and that ANY PRODUCTS SOLD AS NEW WITH VERSION 1.6 WERE ILLEGAL COPIES. I therefore feel cheated by the company selling this product. I have had to totally reformat my PC and reinstall the operationg system from scratch.
Cheap USB Bluetooth June 15, 2008 Alex (UK) Had some trouble installing the drivers from the CD onto Windows Vista. The drivers that come out of the box are not very easy to use and are quite limited. Found it difficult to set up a Serial link to my GPS receiver and ended up installing some 3rd party drivers. This dongle gives as much functionality as you pay for. Good if you need to connect to your phone, but not much else.
Great April 27, 2008 Matt H (Cambridge, UK) Works in linux, no setup required in ubuntu. The dongle itself is very small. Quite warm when in use. Not yet determined range, but it picked up my phone and someone elses on my floor. Slightly over packaged. Postage excessive at 2 , although cheaper than the rest, this could easily be sent by ordinary mail. No need to spend more.
