Product Description The Linksys Compact Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one small box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all ...

Good product but ignore the set up disk October 3, 2008 S. A. Vowles (UK) I have a Virgin Media broadband connection and I had problems getting this router to work. The minimal documentation that comes with the router states that LinkSys "Highly recommend the use of the setup CD on an initial setup". Thinking this was going to get me up and running nice and easily I inserted the CD and eagerly worked my way through the setup wizard. An hour later I had pulled out the rest of my hair and all I could make it do was tell me I didn't have an internet connection or, even more frustrating, continually hang the PC. Feeling rather annoyed I did some research and found I was not the only problem to experience this problem. The recommended solution in each case was to configure the router manually making only a few minor changes to the default settings. Now it is working perfectly and I am very happy with it. My only word of advice for anyone with a Virgin Media connection is to ignore the setup disk, this may save you some time.
Cable Router September 16, 2008 New kite flyer What more can I say. Had to change router as I had moved to Virgin Broadband due to lack of response from B.T when reporting VERY SLOW connection using their lines. I plugged it in and it worked staright out of the box with a network cable plugged into my P.C. Was ablt to setup the wireless connection in 5 min to my laptop. Another 5 min and it was secure. Also very easy to setup the link to the Nintendo D.S and Wii. Bought another for a friend and was just as easy to setup. As well as P.C, D.S and Wii also added wifi conection for Sony P.S.3. This was all setup and running within the hour. And that included setting the security on the consoles. Not the fastest thing to do without a keyboard.
Super bit of kit June 12, 2008 CrashDive (Surrey, UK) Have now had this wireless router for 3 months and have not had to reset it once, it just continually works without me even knowing its there most of the time as it is small and compact, looks good. I have it on one PC in a next door room but the walls are quite thick in this old house, the connection is always working and available and the speed is tops. I can't fault it, installation was a breeze.
Tiny but does the job very well April 10, 2008 Glamourpuss (Bingham, Notts, UK) Bought this to replace a Belkin which constantly kept dropping the connection. This router is extremely compact but does the job perfectly - set up took a little longer than I expected as I had to do stuff with MAC addresses but the online instructions were absolutely idiot proof so it was up and working first time. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and not had to reset it once - my daughter even streams online TV programmes wirelessly to another room without any problems at all. For the money I think this is a great product.
Not very good April 4, 2008 Mr. S. Holland (Milano) I've no idea why, but this box seems to need to be reset quite frequently (after about two hours of use). It's not very stable. On the other hand it was easy to set up (this is the fourth such box I've tried) and is OK so long as you don't mind the rebooting thing.
