Too slow to stream video November 14, 2008 Michael R. Farley (UK) As the other reviewers have stated you plug them in and they work. The speed however is another matter. On the same ring main in the next room I do get the 85 Mbps. However when I change to another ring via the fuse box the speed drops to 42 - 48 Mbps. This is not fast enough to use the link for streaming video from the PC to the television's media centre.
The future of networking is here! July 24, 2008 Sniper rob I needed a way of getting my ps3 connected to the internet with a decent router or someting of that variety. This is perfection! all i can say is, the future looks bright for solowise!
worth it!! June 7, 2008 D. Godfrey (Yeovil, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have now been using one of these for three days, and have noticed a marked improvement on my download speeds compared to the wireless network I was using. I was a bit sceptical about this product, but after reading the numerous 5* reviews I took the plunge and i'm glad I did. I have a Netgear Router and for a moment I was considering going for the Netgear version of this. Word of advice.. DON'T!! you can save a good 10 with this with no quality lost. Like most people say buy at least 2 of these, amazon do a 2 pack bundle which is slightly cheaper
Works with Macs! May 29, 2008 Chris Martin Bought a pair of these to network an imac G5 and MacBook. Plugged them into my Speedtouch router and they worked straight away with no setup. Attached an airport express and that also worked first time. My wife plugs in her Windows laptop and it works brilliantly. A really great product and extremely portable. Highly recommended.
Simple to use - a GREAT product May 15, 2008 D. Paczko (Burton on Trent, Staffordshire) Having just moved to a new house I spent quite a long time thinking about how to solve the problem of my main phone socket being too far from my computer - it was either buy a wireless adaptor for my pc or a longer internet cable and have that trailing all over my front room. Then a friend of mine suggested getting a homeplug - I was a little unsure but he assured me they were great - and he was right!! The set up is easy as pie and I have not noticed any drop in speed - I am now getting an extra pc in house which is going to be upstairs - so I will be buying a 3rd plug very soon. Forget wifi adapters...this is so much better!
