Product Description
Easily connect up to seven USB 2.0 peripheral devices via only one USB port using the Trust 7 Port USB2 Powered Hub HU-5870V. With the addition of more USB peripheral devices, the four extra ports on a standard USB hub are often not enough. The new Trust 7 Port USB2 Powered Hub HU-5870V (www.trust.com/15140) is a solution to this problem. With this hub, it is now possible to connect up to seven USB 2.0 peripheral devices to only one USB port. The use of wide USB devices, such as WiFi adaptors, has been taken...

2 out of 5 stars Failed after 10 months   October 11, 2008
C. Phillips
Bought this as it provided the ports I needed and was a powered hub - I wanted to plug in external drives. Also it looked good and the ports were arranged well. However the blue light is way too bright, and unnecessary. When plugged into my PC it was recognised as 2 separate hubs and would appear to be two 4-port hubs connected together - one 4 port hub plugged into the other. So you have a 4 port hub with 1 port occupied by another 4 port hub - this then leaves you the 7 ports to use. Unfortunately about 1 week ago it failed. The PC came coming up with unrecognised device. I phoned the company I bought it from and they have given me an RMA to return it (Trust delegate all their returns to the sdeller of the item which is not great), but I'm probably not going to bother having read all the other negative reviews. Instead I'm considering opting for another brand (D-Link) as I have one of their modem/routers and it has been good.

1 out of 5 stars Beware...   October 3, 2008

I've just had to replace this unit for the second time, the first under warranty, this time not. Both had the same faults: sockets failed in turn, this time three of the seven gave up the ghost. Look elsewhere. I shall.

1 out of 5 stars Poor reliability   October 2, 2008

A good looking device that does the job some of the time. It is completely random whether this device is seen and recognised by any computer in the house as sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Not worth the money. Far to unreliable to have any faith in it, and it has now been replaced. The blue light, whilst small, can illuminate a medium sized room in the middle of the night as well!

Nice-looking device, but mine died after 10 months. Same symptoms as other users are reporting.

This is a neat unit and good value. I've had one for a year now and it works fine.
