2 out of 5 stars A couple of things you should bear in mind   April 8, 2008

Most people have had a positive view of this kit, but I beg to differ.

Firstly, the good stuff. Logitech is a good brand, build quality is fine, the keyboard has a nice feel when typing and the wireless aspect works fine. But ... I have three issues with it.

1. There doesn't seem to an off or sleep switch so it's on all the time (even when the computer is off) Result: it eats batteries. The mouse was getting through duracells (not cheapies) at the rate of one set of 2 AAs a month or less. The keyboard, oddly, lasted much longer on AAAs.

2. The keyboard layout is slightly non-standard. Take a close look at the graphic and check out the delete, home and insert keys alongside the Enter. May not bother everyone, but it was enough to annoy this touch typist.

3. The software installation was flaky. It installed okay but when I decided to remove it there was no uninstall entry in the Control Panel (Vista). I'm still figuring out how to do it manually.

I've now gone back to my old wired setup. Plenty of people like this kit and for under 20 it's a good buy if you can live with its foibles. I couldn't.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing   April 2, 2008

First off thank you for the super fast delivery.

This is an amazing keyboard that started working straight away from the time it was plugged it. I was surprised that it was also compatible with my laptop.

The ultra sleek look and the fast performance makes this keyboard and mouse a must have.

3 out of 5 stars Good wireless keyboard although some problems   March 12, 2008
Alex_JJ (London)
I bought it to get a wireless keyboard as I already have a nice wireless mouse. The bundled mouse feels a bit cheap and clunky. I like the keyboard and it is good to have (programmable) buttons for media and office programmes. The biggest problem I have found is my computer occasionally thinks the control key is stuck down (has happened on two different computers and with updated setpoint software so it seems to be a real keyboard issue) which makes the PC seem to behave very strangely.

3 out of 5 stars Great but don't buy if you need scroll lock   March 4, 2008

I bought this thinking it was going use up one of my USB lost but since my old keyboard and mouse used 2 I decided to buy it. When I unpacked it I was surprised to see that you can use it via USB and the standard keyboard and mouse sockets which is great if you want to keep your USB slots for other things.

I've been using and so far had no problems at all. Mouse is good and keyboard has an OK feel, works fine with linux (not surprising since it uses the standard keyboard and mouse plugs) so overall it's good.

It would get 4 star but the main problem is it's missing the scroll lock key which most people may never use or even know what's for but some people need it.
