Great except battery life could be better. June 4, 2008 Rebecca Bowman (England) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Bought one of these about a month ago and I take it with me everywhere! I had lost my iPod shuffle while on holiday and was just going to replace it with another shuffle when I spotted the iPod Touch. Immediately I tried talking my self out of purchasing one because it didn't exactly fit into my budget, but seeing as my boyfriend had just spent 200 on a radio controlled petrol fueled car, I figured I could treat myself too! My favourite feature on it by far is the wireless access. I've set my two email accounts up to it and I love that I can quickly sign in from anywhere that has wireless internet. It's pretty convenient for when you're settling into bed at night and realise you forgot to respond to that email you meant to during the day! The touch screen is great, I never find myself having to tap too firmly or more than once to navigate my way around. The keyboard can take some getting used to, but it's nice that it has an auto spell check that fixes words for you as soon as you finished typing them. The image quality is incredible, and I love that I can store photo's on it as well. An absolute MUST is a protective cover of some kind. And buy it at the same time you purchase the Touch because you won't make it through a whole day without scratching it somewhere without one. The only thing I've been slightly disappointed in, is the battery life. I haven't timed it yet, but I have to charge it much, much more often than I ever had to with my shuffle. That thing would last for weeks without having to be recharged! The Touch can barely go a few hours of use before it's worn out. As long as you take the charging cord with you and have access to a computer to plug it in for a while, it's not too bad. Other than that I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it!
Believe the hype - this IS the future of MP3 May 7, 2008 KJ (Leeds, UK) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
There are rival products that have better storage capacity, some sound better or have the ability to handle a wider range of file formats. None of them have the killer apps, user interface, supreme build quality and style of the ipod touch. Nothing comes even close to toppling this beauty!
Very good with small flaws April 29, 2008 M. J. Cooper (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had my ipod touch for about two weeks and it is great. it just looks amazing and is so simple to use. So far battery life seems fine.the only slight flaws with it are 1) Its not really loud, I use it mostly outdoors when walking my dogs and have to have it at 3/4 to full to hear above the traffic or general outdoor noise. 2)head phones are poor quality, now I am no music expert but the sounds does distort a little with tracks that have bass, and i have a lot of dance music. But this can be fixed by some new headphones. But overall it is very good and it is so sexy!!!
ipod Touch - Ohhh Yeah April 16, 2008 P. Foster (Kent, UK) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I brought my wife one for her birthday as she likes technology that "just works" and she loves it. After learning how everything else works herself (not getting me to do the bits she didn't like which is unheard of in our house) she downloaded the update using itunes wirelessly and now sends and receives e-mails to friends and family somthing shes never done before even though she's owned 3 laptops. Her argument being its just so easy :) I love it and can safely say it's the best gadget I've ever brought and I have a shed load of them. As my birthday is coming up I will definately be dropping massive hints for the 8gb Touch even if its just so I can sit in Starbucks or the local pub and send e-mails or download reviews and cinema times :) at Bluewater.
Converted- Fantastic Product March 24, 2008 Jack Percival (Surrey, UK) 28 out of 29 found this review helpful
I bought this product as a skeptic of whether the touchscreen would be sensitive enough and if it would be easy to type on and use. I was instantly converted t their way of thinking (and feeling) - the touchscreen gestures and typing immediately appeared as intutive and made doing wanted easy to learn and use. The internet is simple to browse, the range of applications is amazing (and soon to be extended by a Software development kit) and the maps have replaced my GPS. Whilst the location system doesn't work in the UK (yet) you can download your route onto the device and then just follow the instructions on screen. The mail app is just as simple- its truely an iPhone without the phone. Positives Easy to use touch screen with some excellent applications and extendability- becomes a true portable companion Negatives Low amount of storage space for people with big music collections and constantly having to clean the scren. Also the possibility of having to pay for the "App Store" when it is released. The Last Word A real extension of the iPod brand with some fantastic additions
