5 out of 5 stars Great Slide for any size garden   July 25, 2008

We bought this slide 18 months ago from toysrus when it was in the sale for 39.99. I thought is was a great bargain at the time and still do. We have had more than our monies worth. It took the other half just over a hour to assemble and he thought it was just like any other child's toy to assemble. The slide itself is well built and very sturdy. At first when you try and collapse the slide its a little stiff but once you've done it a few times it loosens up. We are forever taking it up and down to store it when the children want other things out. It literally takes 10 seconds to collapse.

Highly recommended easy to store, well made, lots of fun to be had!

4 out of 5 stars Nightmare to assemble   July 18, 2008

Just assembled this slide at home with my Wife, what a nightmare! I agree completely with the other reviews that the flimsy plastic tubes used to hold the slide together are not fit for purpose, and whichever bright spark at Little Tykes thought it a good idea to use to a hammer to attach the Hollow Plastic caps to hold these tubes in place is quite remarkable... hollow plastic caps with small metal inserts do not take kindly to being hammered! Hence why Little Tykes kindly gave a spare cap (which we needed in the end as one of the others just split in two with the hammer).

Once the living hell that is assembling this unit is finished then the slide is very good, it's just getting over the wanting to throw it through the window together with the plastic caps that you have to get through....

Great slide.. very poorly thought out.

5 out of 5 stars Easy as 1,2,3   November 22, 2006

I received this slide today and the instructions were so easy to follow, putting the slide together was just as easy. It took me just under an hour to assemble. I did have a little help from my husband though. I do recommend this slide. I bought this slide on behalf of my pre-school, now I've seen it I'm going to buy one for my garden.

3 out of 5 stars Assembly Nightmare   June 13, 2006

An (ex)friend of my wife recommended this product. I decided to assemble this when our 2 year old was having an afternoon nap. Good job he slept for 2 hours as it took me that long to assemble it. The plastic rod supplied to thread through the slide is quite frankly not fit for purpose. Hammering on the metal caps is just a joke. Little Tikes should have spent a few pence more on a metal tube rather than the flimsy plastic tube supplied. Once up, the slide is great but make sure you leave plenty of time to assemble it and make sure there are no children around when you start with the expletives!
